Central Phuket Announces Major Expansion to Elevate Luxury Living and Investment Opportunities
Central Phuket's Ambitious Expansion Plans
In March 2026, Central Pattana Plc., the real estate division of the Central Group, revealed an impressive plan for a significant expansion of Central Phuket, valued at approximately US$836 million. This initiative aims to establish Phuket as a distinguished global luxury living and investment hub, which is reflective of the island's evolving economy that now targets long-term residents and affluent homebuyers.
Key Features of the Expansion
The expansion will augment Central Phuket's area by 40%, leading to a grand total of about 500,000 square meters of mixed-use space by 2028. This transformation is seen as a pivotal movement in shifting Phuket’s image from a seasonal tourist hotspot to a year-round luxury destination, fostering an integrated luxury ecosystem.
One of the flagship components of this development includes the introduction of Phuket's largest culinary hub outside of Bangkok. Spanning more than 20,000 square meters, this culinary destination will showcase premium international dining choices and feature Michelin-starred restaurants, further solidifying Phuket's position on the global lifestyle map.
The expansion project comprises three primary segments:
1. Central Phuket Floresta: Set to double its luxury footprint by late 2026, this area will house flagship boutiques and exclusive brands within what aims to become Phuket's luxury district.
2. Central Phuket Festival: Targeted for completion in early 2028, this facility will include over 250 fashion brands. Notably, it will introduce Southeast Asia's largest ZARA flagship along with other renowned brands like ALO, COS, H&M, LULULEMON, ORLEBAR BROWN, and UNIQLO. This placement is strategic, aiming to attract global brands looking to establish their presence in Thailand.
3. Attractions Zone: Opening in late 2028, this 5.5-acre zone will feature a dedicated arena for entertainment and cultural activities, aimed at drawing both local and international tourists.
Urban Infrastructure Development
Central Pattana is framing this project as more than mere retail expansion; rather, it is viewed as crucial urban infrastructure to support Phuket's downtown development. With extensive upgrades planned for residential offerings and airport capacity, Central Phuket is expected to become the core for establishing flagship sites for global brands and consolidating institutional investments.
A Look Ahead
With this transformation, Phuket is set on a trajectory to become a competitive player in the global luxury coastal economy. By 2028, the Central Phuket development is projected to be the epicenter of affluent living, capitalizing on Phuket's natural beauty and growing international capital inflows. Central Pattana is committed to shaping Phuket's future, where luxury living and an investment hub converge, paving the way for a secure and thriving lifestyle for residents and a welcoming environment for tourists.
This landmark project not only signifies a rejuvenation of the local economy but also embodies Phuket's potential to adapt and redefine itself in the global luxury landscape. The future looks bright for Central Phuket, with substantial growth and development envisioned on the horizon.
