Rapidus Corporation Unveils New Analysis Center and Chiplet Solutions to Boost Semiconductor Development
In a significant development for the semiconductor industry, Rapidus Corporation has officially opened a new Analysis Center alongside its innovative Rapidus Chiplet Solutions (RCS). This event, which took place on April 11, 2026, marks a pivotal step in Rapidus' ambition to become a leader in advanced semiconductor manufacturing.
Located in Chitose, Hokkaido, the Analysis Center will serve as a crucial facility that focuses on various types of crucial analyses, including physical and chemical assessments, electrical characterization, and reliability testing of next-generation logic semiconductors. This strategic move complements the existing Innovative Integration for Manufacturing (IIM-1) semiconductor foundry in the region, positioning Rapidus to enhance its research and development capabilities significantly.
The Rapidus Chiplet Solutions, which began operations in late 2024 at the Seiko Epson Corporation's Chitose Plant, is geared towards advancing the packaging of semiconductors post-production. The cleanroom facilities saw initial equipment installations commence back in April 2025, and since then, RCS has been capable of producing prototypes, including a 600mm square RDL interposer panel. The opening of the Analysis Center heralds a new phase as RCS prepares to commence full-scale operations.
During the opening ceremony, dignitaries including Japan's Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Akazawa Ryosei, and local government officials such as Hokkaido Governor Suzuki Naomichi and Chitose Mayor Yokota Ryuichi participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate this milestone.
Rapidus Corporation aims to revolutionize the semiconductor landscape with its state-of-the-art facilities and technologies. The company is committed to the development and manufacture of cutting-edge logic semiconductors, fostering new industries through strategic partnerships aimed at reducing cycle times across design, wafer processing, and 3D packaging.
The expansion of the Analysis Center and RCS is crucial for Rapidus as it works towards achieving mass production goals for advanced semiconductors, slated for the latter half of the 2027 fiscal year. The advancements in R&D are expected not only to enhance the company's product development but also to contribute to the semiconductor industry's evolution towards more sophisticated and efficient manufacturing processes.
With a dedicated vision to bring prosperity and innovation to the semiconductor space, Rapidus is positioned at the forefront of technological advancements that aim to improve quality of life through the application of sophisticated semiconductor solutions. By collaborating closely with its customers and stakeholders, Rapidus is set on a path that seeks to make significant contributions to a more connected and high-tech future.
Headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Rapidus Corporation was founded in August 2022 and has quickly made a mark in the semiconductor industry by securing substantial investments and governmental support to facilitate its ambitious projects. The new Analysis Center stands as a testament to Rapidus' commitment to innovation and efficiency in the ever-evolving semiconductor market.
