Diamond Hill Launches Securitized Total Return Strategy
Columbus, Ohio — July 1, 2025 — Renowned boutique investment management firm, Diamond Hill, has announced the debut of its
Securitized Total Return strategy. This development marks an expansion of the company's unique selection of fixed income portfolios, leveraging their specialized knowledge in securitized assets.
Managed by Henry Song, CFA, the Securitized Total Return strategy aims to provide investors with a dedicated portfolio that focuses on securitized bonds. This approach is designed to complement traditional core fixed income allocations, where Treasurys and corporate bonds are typically handled separately.
Heather Brilliant, CFA and CEO of Diamond Hill, stated,
“The Securitized Total Return strategy provides focused exposure to securitized assets, managed by a team with deep and unique expertise in this area.” This new offering seeks to address the gap in investor interest toward securitized markets, which have often been undervalued when compared to more common fixed income benchmarks.
Henry Song addressed this overlooked market potential, indicating,
“These securities can provide compelling return and risk management opportunities, due in part to additional inherent protections that can be built into the asset class.” Essentially, the strategy integrates various layers of security to mitigate risks, while still pursuing noteworthy returns, setting it apart from more traditional investments.
As of May 31, 2025, Diamond Hill oversees
$7.2 billion in fixed income assets. Their expertly managed portfolios include a variety of options such as Core Bond, Core Plus Bond, Intermediate Bond, Securitized Credit, and Short Duration Securitized Bonds, in addition to their newly launched Securitized Total Return.
