Final Chapter of Tokyo Infiorata 2026: Odaiba Infiorata with Floral Festival

The Tokyo Infiorata 2026, organized by the Floral Art Culture Association, has reached its finale with the upcoming event titled "Odaiba Infiorata with Floral Festival." This spectacular celebration will take place at the Symbol Promenade Park's West Park Bridge from May 9 to 11 and May 16 to 18. This event marks a significant part of the Floral Festival, which is sponsored by the Tokyo Port Authority.

Featuring the stunning backdrop of Tokyo Aquasymphony, known for being one of the world's largest fountains, this event promises an exceptional floral experience created by approximately 100 community participants. In the first session, participants will collaboratively create a massive 110㎡ Japanese floral carpet comprised of around 27,000 carnations, while the second session will showcase four striking kabuki-inspired floral artworks based on the renowned ukiyo-e artist Utagawa Kunisada’s series.

Highlights of the Event

1. First Session: Japanese Floral Carpet
During the first session, participants will work together to create a breathtaking 4.5m by 24.5m (approximately 110㎡) Japanese-style floral carpet. The vibrant arrangement will use about 27,000 carnations and colorful sand. The process of participants placing flower petals one by one will be a mesmerizing aspect of the event, gradually unveiling a colorful and intricate Japanese design. Once completed, this grand floral carpet will transform the Odaiba landscape into a stunning, vibrant sight.

2. Second Session: Floral Kabuki Art
The second session will delve into the enchanting world of kabuki theater through floral artistry. Inspired by Utagawa Kunisada’s popular series, participants will create four remarkable 4.5m by 6.5m (about 30㎡) pieces using around 20,000 carnations and color sand. These artworks will reflect the elegance and charm of kabuki actors, beautifully merging the art of ukiyo-e with floral expressions that bring the beauty of Edo culture to contemporary Odaiba.

3. Unique Experience: Odaiba Flower Bugaku
The final day of the first session will feature a unique performance titled "Odaiba Flower Bugaku," where renowned Bugaku founder, Gen Koushirou, will showcase a spectacular performance on the stage of completed floral artworks. Bugaku art combines traditional Japanese martial arts and performance art, delivering both power and beauty. Set against the backdrop of the impressive Tokyo Aquasymphony, this event promises an unforgettable experience blending nature, water, and dance.
