SHEIN, a prominent entity in the online fashion and lifestyle retail space, has taken a substantial step towards sustainability by signing an agreement with DHL, the leading logistics company. This partnership centers around the GoGreen Plus service, designed to advance the utilization of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in air cargo logistics. The move is in line with SHEIN's mission to minimize carbon emissions associated with air transportation and highlights the company's commitment to adopting eco-friendly practices in its logistics operations.

The Vision Behind GoGreen Plus



DHL's GoGreen Plus service enables corporate entities to contribute to the sustainable aviation fuel market by integrating SAF into its aviation fuel supply chain. The program's sustainability accounting system allocates lifecycle emissions reductions from SAF usage back to participating companies, which allows them to accurately report these reductions in their sustainability reporting. This interaction is critical for corporate customers aiming to enhance their environmental credentials.

Mustan Lalani, SHEIN's Head of Sustainability, emphasized the importance of partnerships in understanding and implementing sustainable fuel solutions. He stated, "Working with partners such as DHL allows us to better understand how sustainable aviation fuel solutions may be incorporated into air cargo logistics."

This agreement is a pivotal moment in SHEIN's comprehensive approach to fostering sustainability in air logistics. It builds upon previous initiatives, including a Memorandum of Understanding signed with Lufthansa Cargo in 2025. SHEIN's endeavor includes partnerships across the air cargo domain, allowing them to gain insights into the feasibility of SAF solutions in reducing lifecycle emissions.

For instance, SHEIN executed a pilot program in 2025 where they successfully used 187.3 tonnes of SAF over 14 charter flights with Atlas Air, which led to a remarkable reduction of 579.1 tons CO₂e. Furthermore, the company has committed to participating in a pilot program organized by China National Aviation Fuel and the Second Research Institute of Civil Aviation of China, focusing on advancing SAF adoption in the Chinese market.

Aiming for Broader Solutions



The collaboration doesn't end there. SHEIN's involvement in the Green Fuel Forward initiative by the World Economic Forum shows its dedication to promoting SAF in the Asia-Pacific region. This initiative aims to facilitate collaboration among corporations, airlines, and fuel producers while raising awareness about SAF and encouraging demand.

However, while SHEIN is making strides in integrating SAF into its logistics framework, it acknowledges that SAF currently constitutes a minimal share of the overall aviation fuel supply. The broader adoption of SAF is hindered by production limits and higher operational costs. Therefore, bringing logistics providers and airlines together is vital to overcoming these challenges and ensuring long-term sustainable practices in air transport.
