This summer, Pal System Federation, based in Shinjuku, Tokyo, orchestrated a fascinating job experience program in Inagi City, where participants could delve into the intricate workings of delivery logistics using real-life operational equipment. From July 20 to August 31, 2026, the program took place over 16 days, attracting a total of 209 eager participants.

A Comprehensive Learning Experience

This program aims to make learning about the delivery logistics system enjoyable and accessible. Beyond the summer break, similar initiatives occur on the first Saturday of every month and on public holidays from Monday to Friday.

During summer, the program expanded to include exciting collaborations. One such initiative was the expression workshop, which saw 10 enthusiastic children captured the essence of their logistics experience through art. Children were encouraged to observe the sorting machines more closely as they reflected on their experiences, demonstrating their concentration in creating art.

Moreover, programs tailored for middle and high school students were held on August 3 and 4 as a part of the “Child Smile Movement” known as JobEX. A total of 13 students took part and explored deeper aspects of logistics processes and information systems while also engaging in workshops aimed at reducing food waste. This experience provided them with valuable insights as they contemplated their future careers.

Another notable event was the scientific exploratory workshop held on August 20, where 11 participants experienced a Joint Program with a quality inspection facility. The workshop allowed participants to learn about paper chromatography, observing the separation of ink colors on a coffee filter dipped in water, an essential process in food quality inspection.

In addition, the program included participation from children with disabilities, ensuring that tailored experiences catered to individual needs, further showcasing the accessibility and enjoyment of learning about logistics.

Thus far, Pal System has received a positive response, with feedback highlighting the engaging nature of the experience. Children have expressed excitement in utilizing tablets for grocery shopping, while parents noted the educational value that spurred their children's interest in food.

So far, the total participation has surpassed 2,200 individuals, and the organization expects to continue hosting job experience programs beyond September. The logistical operations demonstrated involve precision sorting systems and the effective use of information technology, ensuring timely deliveries to over 800,000 households, amounting to more than ten million items on a weekly basis.

Essentially, the program educates participants about the role of technology and logistics in modern society, emphasizing the importance of understanding the processes involved in everyday life.
