Freightos Partners with Forward Air to Enhance Its Digital Freight Booking Services

Freightos Partners with Forward Air to Enhance It's Digital Freight Booking Services

Freightos, a key player in the digital freight booking and payment arena, has joined forces with Forward Air Corporation, recognized for its premier ground transportation across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. This partnership intends to improve the speed and efficiency of freight transactions by enabling freight forwarders to digitally book less-than-truckload (LTL) and linehaul trucking services through the 7LFreight by WebCargo platform.

What does this partnership mean for the logistics industry? According to Zvi Schreiber, CEO of Freightos, the company is constructing a comprehensive digital infrastructure meant to facilitate seamless management of global freight operations. As supply chain demands grow, Freightos aims to diversify its transactional capabilities, extending beyond air and ocean freight to include a variety of trucking services, enhancing every step of the process from pricing to final delivery. With the integration of Forward Air's extensive network—which consists of approximately 11,000 lane pairs and over 100 facilities—the partnership promises to revolutionize how forwarders book trucking services.

This integration allows bookings for door-to-door, airport-to-door, and door-to-airport transportation directly from the Freightos platform, enhancing convenience for logistics professionals. The expectation is that these digital booking capabilities will soon expand to include airport cartage services, creating a direct link between airline and ground transportation, thereby streamlining first and last-mile logistics.

In a statement, Melissa Feeser, Senior Vice President of Sales at Forward, emphasized the necessity for digitization in logistics. Fast-paced operations require customers to have quick access to reliable booking systems, and the new collaboration aims to simplify workflows for myriad shared customers. Leveraging the largest airport-to-airport network in the U.S., this partnership grants users operational precision and complete visibility into their shipments, from the moment a package is ordered until it reaches its final destination.

The initial rollout of this service occurs on the 7LFreight platform, with plans for broader implementation across the Freightos platform, including WebCargo. This rollout aims to make the shipping experience more interconnected and efficient, accommodating clients with diverse needs, especially international shipments transitioning from air freight to overland transport.

Brennan O'Dowd, CEO of 7LFreight, also expressed his excitement over this partnership. Forward is viewed as a critical player in expedited ground transportation within North America. The enhancement of services will assist freight forwarders in efficiently organizing bookings for various transport types—the door-to-door service and middle to last-mile solutions.

U.S. freight forwarders interested in accessing these new services can sign up for 7LFreight and begin integrating Forward’s offerings into their logistics operations. This partnership not only expands Freightos's functionalities but also introduces a more efficient future for freight logistics, aligning with the increasing demand for speed and transparency in supply chain operations.
