In a significant move, Entergy Corporation has elected retired Admiral Frank Caldwell as an independent director, effective November 1, 2025. This announcement marks a key development in the organization’s efforts to bolster its leadership and guidance in the energy sector.
Admiral Caldwell, aged 66, brings a wealth of experience to the table, particularly in the realm of nuclear operations and strategic leadership. With this appointment, the size of Entergy's board now totals 12 directors. Admiral Caldwell will serve on the nuclear and operations oversight committee as well as the talent and compensation committee, aligning his expertise with key operational areas within the company.
A Distinguished Naval Career
Caldwell’s military career has been nothing short of exceptional. He most recently served as the director of the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program, a critical role where he oversaw the safe and reliable operation of all U.S. Navy nuclear propulsion plants globally. His tenure lasted from August 2015 until his retirement in January 2024, a time when he managed a team of over 85,000 personnel, ensuring the highest standards of safety and operational effectiveness.
Throughout his four decades in service, Admiral Caldwell held numerous significant positions, including director of the U.S. Navy Staff in 2015, inspector general from 2013 to 2015, and Commander Submarine Force for the U.S. Pacific Fleet between 2010 and 2013. His academic credentials include a bachelor's degree in marine engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy and a master's in operations research from the Naval Postgraduate School. His excellence has been recognized with multiple honors, including the Distinguished Service Medal and the Defense Superior Service Medal.
