Sekisui Chemical's Research Grant Program for 2025
Sekisui Chemical Industry Co., Ltd., under the leadership of President Keita Kato, has officially opened applications today for the 2025 "Learn from Nature Manufacturing Research Grant Program". This initiative aims to support research that harnesses foundational scientific knowledge gleaned from nature to improve manufacturing processes and address social challenges.
Launched in 2002 as part of the company’s 55th-anniversary celebrations, this program has consistently attracted a high number of applicants, with 325 researchers having received support over the years. In 2025, the program seeks to enhance its support for young researchers under the age of 45 by introducing a new "Young Researcher Encouragement Award". This award is specifically designed to foster and empower aspiring researchers willing to take on new challenges in this field.
In addition to the existing main grant program, the total funding for the initiative has been increased to 36 million yen, reflecting a 40% increase from the previous year. The themes for the research grants are expected to be determined by early September, and a ceremony for presenting catalogs is scheduled for October 20.
The Sekisui Chemical Group is committed to achieving sustainable social development while promoting its growth through this program. The group aims to enhance its contributions to solving societal issues and solidify its reputation as a trusted entity among its stakeholders.
