Supporting Families: The Warm Circulation Event at Atre Kameido

Supporting Families: The Warm Circulation Event at Atre Kameido

Atre Kameido, located in Koto City, Tokyo, will host a significant initiative to support families. From August 1 to August 2, 2026, this community-oriented reuse event, titled the "Children's Clothing Donation Event", aims to alleviate the financial burdens of parenting while promoting environmental sustainability. This event is organized by Zendura Co., Ltd. and co-hosted by the Children and Parenting Circular Co-Creation Center.

As children grow rapidly, they often outgrow clothes quickly. This donation event offers gently used children's clothing for free, creating a platform that empowers families while also significantly reducing waste and contributing positively to the environment. Through collaborations with various local organizations, including social welfare councils and the Chamber of Commerce, Atre Kameido is expanding its support network for families, creating a circulation of smiles and resources within the community.

Details of the Donation Event

The donation event invites families to bring in children's clothing that has been cared for and is still useful. Here are the event details:

  • - Date: August 1 (Saturday) & August 2 (Sunday)
  • - Time: 10:30 AM to 4:00 PM daily
  • - Location: Atre Kameido 7F Atre Hall
  • - Participation Fee: Free (open to everyone)
  • - Donation Rules: Each household may bring up to 5 items, with options to increase this limit through social media connections:
- Registering on Atre’s official LINE (with Atre Kameido selected) shows a screen for +1 item
- Following Atre Kameido’s official Instagram grants +2 items
  • - Please note, tickets may be distributed on the day of the event.

Additionally, a simultaneous book donation event will take place over the same two days, allowing families to give and receive books that can foster children’s literacy and imagination.

Preparing for the Event: Clothing and Book Collection

Prior to the donation days, Atre Kameido is conducting a free collection for children’s clothing and books from June 16 to July 31, with collection boxes located at:
  • - Location: Atre Kameido
  • - Opening Hours: Daily from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM
  • - Box Locations: 2F in front of the Kame-chan elevator area, next to the kids' space on 4F, and beside the Atre Hall on 7F.

This initiative transforms the narrative from "waste" to "thank you", by connecting families with items their children can no longer use.

Recycling Efforts by Kawakami Sangyo

Kawakami Sangyo, known for their production of bubble wrap (Puchipuchi®), is joining this sustainability movement by implementing a recycling scheme for Puchipuchi®. They will also host an interactive event during the donation days where children can search for a hidden heart among 10,000 pieces of bubble wrap.

Purpose of the Event

1. Economic Support for Families: By facilitating the reuse of clothing, Atre Kameido aims to ease the financial pressure on families with rapidly growing children.
2. Reduced Environmental Impact: The event aligns with SDGs by decreasing waste through the recycling of children's clothing, contributing to a more sustainable society.
3. Revitalization of Local Communities: The donation exercise encourages interactions among local residents, fostering a sense of community.
