Tomohisa Yamashita Takes on a Leading Role in Bulgari's Kaleidos Exhibition Audio Guide

Bulgari's Kaleidos Exhibition Audio Guide

Bulgari has recently made an exciting announcement regarding the upcoming exhibition "Bulgari Kaleidos: Color, Culture, and Craft" which will take place from September 17 to December 15, 2025. The event will be held at the National Art Center in Tokyo and will showcase the largest collection of Bulgari's works ever displayed in Japan. Notably, the actor and Bulgari ambassador, Tomohisa Yamashita, has been appointed as the Japanese-language audio guide narrator for this remarkable exhibition.

The title "Kaleidos" is derived from Greek, meaning "beautiful" or "form," reflecting a world filled with dynamic, ever-changing colors—a journey celebrating beauty and creativity. The exhibition will feature approximately 350 masterpieces of jewelry selected from the Bulgari Heritage Collection as well as rare private collections. This selection not only traces the evolution of the brand from its inception to the present but also emphasizes the deep connection between Italy and Japan, celebrating shared passions for art, design, and rich cultural heritage.

In his statement regarding his new role, Yamashita expressed his deep honor in being the narrator for the exhibition's audio guide. He shared his personal reflections on the experience of reading through the script, which recalled the beauty of Rome's landscapes he experienced during previous visits and the vibrant colors of Bulgari's jewelry. He mentioned a particular line from the audio guide script that states, "For example, red symbolizes passion.” Upon reading this, he reminisced about a song he wrote two decades ago called "Colorful," which also featured the phrase "red passion." Yamashita humorously noted that red has always been synonymous with passion.

Additionally, Yamashita invited visitors to explore the emotional expressions tied to the color blue, another of his favorite hues, urging them to discover its meaning through the audio guide. He emphasized that attendees will encounter numerous valuable pieces of Bulgari jewelry that could be regarded as works of art, guiding them through the scientific and historical contexts of these pieces while embarking on a journey through the dazzling kaleidoscopic world of Bulgari.
