TriNetX Appoints August Calhoun as New CEO to Lead Health Data Network

TriNetX Welcomes August Calhoun as CEO

TriNetX, a leader in global health data networks, has officially appointed August Calhoun as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. This announcement comes as the company continues to expand its global reach and solidify its position as a go-to resource for health data research, boasting a network that includes data from over 300 million patients across more than 25 countries.

Prior to his new role, Calhoun has accumulated over 25 years of experience in health data and technology leadership. His background includes key executive positions at several influential companies in the health sector, including RLDatix, Optum Insight, Change Healthcare, and Siemens. Throughout his career, he successfully managed operations, sales, account management, and strategic developments, establishing high-performing organizations that cater to healthcare providers, insurers, and life sciences clients.

Calhoun expressed his enthusiasm for leading TriNetX, stating, "For the past 13 years, TriNetX has built something unique—a global health data network relied upon by leading healthcare systems and life sciences organizations to answer their most complex research questions. The industry-leading network and unmatched data quality of TriNetX uniquely position the company for global expansion and further enrichment of data assets, providing actionable insights to various stakeholders in healthcare. I am honored to lead TriNetX, The Global Truth Engine for Better Human Health™, and to drive forward the mission that defines us."

Jeff Margolis, the interim CEO and current Chairman, will resume his role as Chairman of TriNetX following the leadership transition. Margolis emphasized Calhoun's suitability for the role, saying, "August is precisely the leader that TriNetX needs during this stage of its evolution. His extensive experience in building high-performing healthcare technology organizations, paired with his deep understanding of data analytics and services, makes him the right person to advance TriNetX's mission. I take pride in what the TriNetX team has achieved during this transition and look forward to supporting August and the company as Chairman."

Adding to the excitement, Joe Bress, a partner and global co-head of healthcare at Carlyle, TriNetX's leading investor, shared his thoughts on the new appointment. “We are pleased to welcome August as the permanent CEO of TriNetX. We also extend our gratitude to Jeff for his exceptional leadership during the interim period, which included significant achievements for the organization—a strategic collaboration and investment with Regeneron, acquiring assets from Zetta Genomics, and expanding their `LIVE` network to over 300 million patients.”

TriNetX’s global network encompasses real-world data from more than 11,000 healthcare centers, facilitating an extensive range of research applications across clinical research, trial design, and real-world evidence generation.
