Exploring Innovative Projects at 100BANCH: The Future of Commerce and Art
100BANCH is an experimental space dedicated to creating new values with the youth of tomorrow, aiming for a richer world a century from now. Recently, the 107th cohort of the GARAGE Program welcomed three pioneering projects focusing on revolutionizing e-commerce and enhancing artistic experiences.
JPYC EC: Redefining E-Commerce with Blockchain
The first project,
JPYC EC, aims to reconnect producers and consumers directly. In today's e-commerce landscape, profits are often diminished by high transaction fees—typically 3 to 5%, in addition to marketplace charges. This leaves artisans, farmers, and creators with significantly reduced earnings, creating a barrier to their growth. This project challenges that traditional structure by harnessing the power of blockchain technology.
JPYC EC promotes a new e-commerce model that utilizes stablecoins for transactions, allowing for a direct peer-to-peer payment system that drastically minimizes fees. The project charges just a 1% platform maintenance fee, returning the remaining 99% directly to the creators. Furthermore, buyers can enjoy a seamless purchasing experience through gasless transactions, making it accessible even to those unfamiliar with Web3 technologies. Over the next three months, 100BANCH will analyze the effectiveness of this 1% fee model, exploring its potential to foster sustainable economic relationships between creators and consumers.

Listen to the Painting: An Auditory Gateway to Art
The second project,
Listen to the Painting, explores a unique approach to art appreciation, allowing individuals to 'experience' paintings through sound. This initiative aims to create an inclusive environment where traditional barriers of expertise and bias are removed. Participants will engage with a sonic artwork designed to evoke the stories surrounding visual pieces, facilitating a richer, sensory experience.
By merging sound art with the humanities, this project creates a new interface for art engagement, emphasizing intuitive understanding without relying on visual or linguistic elements. The goal is to establish a dialogue through art that transcends conventional boundaries, allowing everyone to share feelings and insights. This project promises to reshape how individuals interact with art, making it more accessible and communal.

Nonu: Urban Self-Tuning Through Traditional Practices
Lastly, the
nonu project seeks to reframe traditional Chinese medicine concepts within urban settings. Aimed at helping urban dwellers maintain balance amidst the unpredictability of city life, nonu offers an experience of 'self-tuning' rather than merely providing rest. Their first product, a fragrance soap, is crafted from herbal ingredients designed to align with users' desired states.
The soap, featuring astringent herbs for enhanced moisture and a pleasant wash, can be suspended in space, creating an innovative usage method. This initiative reflects a commitment to elevating the energies of city dwellers through mindfulness and proactive self-optimization, contributing to a new cultural understanding of urban life.
