Expanding Opportunities for Second Careers in Tama Region

The Platinum Career Center, an initiative run by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Tokyo Employment Foundation, is taking significant steps to support individuals aged 50 and over by broadening their options for side jobs and dual careers in the Tama region. As part of this endeavor, the center will commence outreach consultations in Tama starting in June 2026, supplementing existing sessions held in Toranomon.

Launch of Outreach Consultations

Beginning in April 2026, the Platinum Career Center will extend its individual consultations to residents of the Tama region. These sessions will allow experienced consultants to guide individuals through inquiries related to side business practices, career transitions, and overall career management. The initiative aims to create a welcoming environment for individuals who may be navigating uncharted career paths, encouraging them to explore new opportunities.

Individual consultations will be available in late May and June, with reservations starting on May 11. The Tokyo Job Center in Tama, conveniently located just a four-minute walk from the south exit of JR Tachikawa Station, provides a user-friendly venue for local residents and workers.
