Celebrate Shanshan's 8th Birthday

Shanshan, the adorable giant panda, is turning 8, and to commemorate this special occasion, the highly anticipated "Return of the Giant Panda Exhibition" will be held from June 6 to June 15 at JMF Building in Takadanobaba, Tokyo. The event is free to attend and promises a delightful experience for panda lovers of all ages.

Exciting Features of the Exhibition

Over the course of ten days, visitors will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in various activities celebrating Shanshan's birthday. Notably, the exhibition will showcase photo panels featuring Shanshan, and offer exclusive original merchandise that captures the moments of her return to China after a successful period in Japan. Additionally, guests can expect to see videos highlighting the festivities in China, particularly at the Bifengxia base, where Shanshan celebrates her birthday, showcasing the love and affection from her fans in China.

Moreover, over 200 types of panda-themed products crafted by artists and creators will be available, including works by KITSCH that features retro panda designs, and Here Darling!, which presents charming handmade jewelry. Creating a festive atmosphere, workshops will also be available for visitors, including a special introduction to the Sichuan dialect for panda enthusiasts, designed to enhance the experience of learning about these beloved creatures.

Special Screenings

During the exhibition, two exciting screenings will be featured:

1. Celebration of Shanshan's Birthday in China: A special video documenting the birthday celebrations at the Bifengxia base and the events held in Ya'an by Shanshan's fan club will be available for a limited time only on June 14 and 15, showcasing heartfelt celebrations.
- Times: 13:00 / 15:00 / 17:00

2. Panda Origin Base of Baoxing: This screening includes exclusive footage from the Baoxing Dengchigou Panda Origin Base, an important area for the habitat of giant pandas. Visitors can enjoy the natural sounds of pandas eating bamboo and other serene wildlife sounds.
- Schedule: June 6 - June 15 from 11:00 to 19:00 (excluding the birthday screening). Note: On June 15, the exhibit will close at 18:00.

Photo Exhibition

In addition to the existing photo exhibit showcasing Shanshan, new photographs of Fubao, another beloved panda now featured in theaters, will be on display. This dual showcase of Shanshan and Fubao is sure to highlight the unique charm and personalities of both pandas.

Panda Merchandise

A diverse range of merchandise will be available, including limited edition items featuring photographs from Shanshan's time in China and adorable plush toys imported directly from China, marking their debut in Japan. Popular products from previous exhibitions will return, including items from KITSCH and Kokichiya, along with practical items for the upcoming season, such as umbrellas and towels.

Workshops

To further enrich this celebratory experience, interactive workshops will be offered:

• - Create Your Own Shanshan-themed Bag: Using badges from past events, participants can craft their own custom bags, suitable for both children and adults.

• - Introductory Sichuan Language Class: Engage in a fun lesson covering basic greetings and conversation techniques in the Sichuan dialect, tailored for beginners.
