Celebrating the Orange Ribbon Connection 2025 Event
On November 3, 2025, the
Orange Ribbon Connection 2025 event took place at Ario Kasai in Edogawa, Tokyo, organized by the non-profit organization Chaibora. This event was aligned with the nationwide campaign aimed at preventing child abuse and promoting the recognition and importance of child welfare institutions. Supported by the Edogawa City government and major contributors, the event aimed to create a space where both parents and children could enjoy and learn together.
Community Engagement and Awareness
The highlight of the event was a talk session featuring staff from child welfare facilities such as
Edogawa Tsumugi no Ie and
Heart Port, along with Chaibora's representative Haruka Ooyama. The session attracted over a hundred families, many of whom paused to listen attentively and engage in meaningful discussions. This exchange was pivotal in reshaping perceptions of child welfare facilities from being seen as distant entities to becoming relatable and trustworthy community resources.
Special Performances and Activities
Shimajiro Dance Show
One of the biggest draws of the event was the performance featuring beloved characters like Shimajiro, Mimi-Rin, Torippii, and Nyakki. The show’s popularity led to long lines and a full audience, with roughly 1,600 attendees enjoying two performances across the day. Children cheered enthusiastically, clutching their character puppets, as they engaged in the festivities that fostered community spirit.
Soap Making Workshop
Thanks to Kracie, the soap-making workshop provided children and their parents with a fun way to learn about hygiene. This hands-on experience received positive feedback, with around 150 participants learning how to create adorable soaps while being educated on important personal care topics.
Parent-Child Stamp Rally
In partnership with the Japan Children's Support Association, the event featured a stamp rally aligned with the
Orange Walk, a charity initiative focusing on child abuse prevention. This interactive activity not only encouraged participation, attracting around 250 parents and children, but also facilitated discussions about the significance of supporting child welfare initiatives.
Cybozu Exhibition Booth
Cybozu, a company renowned for its work in enhancing community support through technology, set up an engaging booth. Participants could spin a gacha machine by answering questionnaires that fostered family interactions, revealing the importance of communal support and shared values among parents and children.
Acknowledgements
The success of the Orange Ribbon Connection 2025 event would not have been possible without the collaborative efforts of various organizations. Special thanks are due to Ario Kasai, Edogawa City, and participating entities such as Kracie and J.P. Morgan for their invaluable support. Chaibora, committed to enhancing the awareness and operational efficiency of child welfare facilities in Japan, has been proactively advocating for children's rights and welfare through their various initiatives.
Looking Forward
As we reflect on the success of this event, it is clear that community engagement is vital in fostering a supportive environment for children and families. Chaibora's contributions are essential in spreading awareness, and events like these play a crucial role in connecting resources, knowledge, and encouragement to those in need. We look forward to seeing how these initiatives evolve and further consolidate community ties in the fight against child abuse.
