Tokyo Toy Show 2026 Set to Showcase the Latest Trends and Innovations in the Toy Industry

Tokyo Toy Show 2026: A Celebration of Toy Innovation

The Tokyo Toy Show 2026, Japan's largest toy fair, is gearing up for an exciting event from August 27 to 30, 2026. Hosted at the renowned Tokyo Big Sight, this year's event will continue to celebrate the vibrant toy culture in Japan, drawing in both industry professionals and the general public.

In 2025, the Japanese toy market surpassed 1 trillion yen for the first time, reflecting a significant growth of 106.3% year-on-year. The show is an essential platform for the toy industry, highlighting innovative products and emerging trends. This year's event will feature 190 companies, with approximately 35,000 new toy items on display, including products that have won prestigious accolades from the Japanese Toy Awards 2026.

The first two days, August 27 and 28, are designated as Business Days, allowing for networking opportunities, media coverage, and seminars aimed at students and professionals interested in the toy sector. These forums will facilitate discussions about emerging trends and provide insights into the industry's future. The public, however, is welcome starting August 29 and 30, where everyone can experience the latest in toy innovations, partake in hands-on activities, and enjoy an array of entertainment on stage.

Expect Exciting Events and Attractions

The public days are set to be incredibly engaging with highlights such as:
  • - Character shows for families to enjoy together.
  • - The Koro Koro Spirit Festival, an event featuring beloved characters from the popular monthly magazine, Comic CoroCoro.
  • - The announcement of the winner of the Chao Girl 2026 Audition, a competition that has previously launched the careers of many successful actresses.

The entry tickets for the public days have been on sale since July 1, with children under middle school age allowed free entry. For high school students and older, tickets are available in three options: Advance ticket for 2,000 yen, Day ticket for 2,200 yen, and a 2-Day ticket for 3,600 yen. Additionally, a special prize campaign will reward early ticket buyers with the chance to win exciting prizes at the event.

Special Guests and Ambassadors

Adding to the excitement, voice actor Subaru Kimura returns as an ambassador, joined by comedian Yasuko, who will further amplify the festival's reach. Their presence will not only entertain attendees but also enhance the celebratory atmosphere of this annual event, which is reminiscent of a grand toy festival where imagination runs wild.
