Honoring the Doolittle Raiders: A Global Toast
Join the Air & Space Forces Association (AFA) as we invite Airmen, Guardians, veterans, and supporters worldwide to participate in a significant event: the Doolittle Raiders Memorial Toast, scheduled for April 17, 2025, at 5:30 PM (ET). This momentous occasion coincides with the grand opening of AFA's new building in Arlington, Virginia, marking an important moment for the organization and its mission.
The toast commemorates the legacy of the 80 brave Airmen who executed the historic Doolittle Raid on April 18, 1942. This tradition, initiated by AFA’s founding president, General Jimmy Doolittle, has persisted for over 80 years, illustrating the courage and spirit of those who serve in the Air Force. With leaders such as Air Force Chief of Staff General David W. Allvin and Chief of Space Operations General B. Chance Saltzman as keynote speakers, the event promises to be a moving tribute to valor and innovation.
A Celebration of Heritage and Future
"It is fitting that our first official act in our new building is a tribute to a tradition that started 80 years ago with General Doolittle himself," said Lieutenant General Burt Field, USAF (Ret.), President and CEO of AFA. This statement reflects the organization’s commitment to honor its roots while looking towards an inspiring future. The toast is more than just a ceremony; it's a celebration of the values instilled by the Doolittle Raiders.
