OpenWeb Appoints Jim Daily as New CEO to Drive Next Expansion Phase

OpenWeb Welcomes Jim Daily as New CEO

OpenWeb, a leading platform for community engagement, has made a significant leadership change by appointing Jim Daily as its next Chief Executive Officer, effective from April 1, 2025. Daily's extensive background in technology and digital strategy positions him well to guide OpenWeb through its next growth phase.

Daily brings a wealth of experience in the adtech industry, having previously served as North American CEO and Global President at Teads. Under his leadership, Teads witnessed remarkable growth, scaling from $0 to a staggering $275 million in annual revenue. This achievement was bolstered by strategic partnerships with prominent publishers such as ESPN, Condé Nast, and The Washington Post. Additionally, Daily founded LinksDAO, turning it into an $11 million business in just 10 months, further showcasing his entrepreneurial prowess.

Tim Harvey, who held the position of Interim CEO and will continue on as Executive Chairman, expressed confidence in Daily, stating, "Jim is the perfect leader to take OpenWeb into its next chapter. His passion, expertise, and deep industry knowledge will infuse the company with energy and momentum as we continue to scale. We are thrilled to welcome him aboard."

As OpenWeb looks to broaden its impact on online engagement, Daily joins the company at a critical juncture. OpenWeb currently boasts over 5,000 publishers and 170 million monthly users, including notable partners like CNN, The Arena Group, Fandom, and Mail Online. The company also collaborates with major advertisers such as Ford, Virgin Atlantic, Adobe, and Porsche.

Under Daily's guidance, OpenWeb is poised to amplify its publisher network and enhance the services provided to its partners. One recent innovation is Aida, a proprietary LLM-based moderation technology that significantly improves accuracy in online community management. Moreover, OpenWeb is set to introduce In-Conversation Ads in 2024, providing curated ad placements to highly engaged users, ultimately benefiting both publishers and advertisers.

"What drew me to OpenWeb is simple – the mission. Fostering healthier, more meaningful online conversations is vital for business and society," said Daily. "The team has built something truly special, and I am excited to lead OpenWeb as we scale our impact—championing thoughtful engagement and empowering communities to connect in more meaningful ways."

With a clear vision for the future, Daily intends to enhance OpenWeb's product offerings, expand commercial strategies, and deliver innovative technical solutions aimed at maximizing publisher revenue. His specialized knowledge in publisher technologies and monetization strategies equips him uniquely to tackle the evolving challenges within the media landscape.

OpenWeb, founded in 2015, operates offices in key global locations including New York City, Tel Aviv, Kiev, San Diego, Canada, London, and Paris.
