TMYTEK and Comtech Collaboration Paves the Way for Advanced Satellite Connectivity Solutions

TMYTEK and Comtech Collaborate for Futuristic Satellite Connectivity

TMY Technology Inc. (TMYTEK) recently announced an exciting partnership with Comtech Telecommunications Corp. This collaboration aims to redefine satellite communications through advanced user terminal solutions that promise widespread connectivity.

A Revolutionary User Terminal Design

The new solutions unveiled include a state-of-the-art software-defined Ku/Ka multi-orbit electronically steered antenna (ESA) integrated terminal and a passive slotted-waveguide antenna terminal. By merging Comtech's multi-orbit satellite modems with TMYTEK's innovative ESA technology, this integrated terminal facilitates hybrid connectivity across various orbital layers. This is a significant leap forward, enabling applications that span commercial broadband, high-altitude platform systems (HAPS), and critical government and defense operations.

The passive slotted-waveguide antenna is designed for enhanced efficiency. It's a low-profile and resilient solution tailored for fixed installations in emergency response scenarios and demanding environments where consistent satellite connectivity is crucial, even with limited energy resources.

Features of the Multi-Orbit Integrated Terminal

The multi-orbit terminal boasts a software-defined phased array design and integrates Comtech’s ELEVATE user terminals with TMYTEK’s groundbreaking ESA technology. This integration makes it possible to maintain seamless connectivity across various orbital layers including Geostationary Orbit (GEO), Medium Earth Orbit (MEO), Low Earth Orbit (LEO), and non-terrestrial networks. With a modular design, this terminal efficiently adapts to swiftly changing market needs, ensuring reliable communication capabilities across several sectors.

The Passive Slotted-Waveguide Antenna Terminal

In the integration, the passive antenna terminal merges Comtech's ELEVATE digital terminal technology with TMYTEK's passive slotted-waveguide beamforming technology. This combination notably enhances spectrum utilization while keeping power consumption low. It's especially effective for monitoring and protecting High Power Electrical Grids, as well as in defense sectors. The slotted-waveguide antenna, while achieving the same gain as ESA antennas over the same surface area, remarkably uses only 90% of the energy that ESA systems require.

A Partnership with a Vision

Daniel Gizinski, President of Comtech's Satellite Space Communications Segment, stated, "Our collaboration with TMYTEK began in 2025, as part of the EUREKA Program between Canada and Taiwan. This partnership has united our extensive expertise with cutting-edge technology to effectively serve our global clientele."

Ethan Lin, Co-founder and Vice President of TMYTEK, further emphasized the transformational nature of this partnership. He said, "By offering both multi-orbit and flat antenna terminal solutions, we provide our customers with enhanced flexibility and scalability across various deployment scenarios—from ground systems to aerial communications."

Together, TMYTEK and Comtech are committed to delivering scalable, robust, and user-friendly satellite terminals. These solutions are designed to meet the fast-evolving demands of our connected world—from enterprise-class networking to remote IoT applications.
