Transcosmos Discusses Creator Education at Shizuoka Prefecture XR Lecture Series

Transcosmos Highlights Creator Education at XR Lecture

On March 25, 2026, transcosmos presented its insights regarding creator education in the XR (Cross Reality) era at the Shizuoka Prefecture XR Endowed Lecture Series. The event, co-hosted by the Shizuoka Institute of Science and Technology Group and Metaverse Japan, aimed to bridge technology with community engagement and education.

The keynote session titled “Developing the Future of Community and People through XR—From Social Implementation to Education and Creator Development” focused on the integral role that XR technologies play in enhancing digital learning and creativity among youth. The presentation included a collaborative effort from experts such as Shintaro Wakita from Educational Design Co., Ltd., and Jin Mitsuda, the Department Manager at transcosmos's Metaverse Promotion Division. They highlighted the educational potential of platforms like Roblox, emphasizing its applications in both social and educational contexts.

Expanding Educational Horizons with Roblox

The lecture showcased how digital platforms are evolving beyond mere entertainment to serve as valuable educational resources. Roblox, in particular, was presented as a dynamic environment where young individuals can engage in a comprehensive learning cycle—designing, creating, and refining their projects based on user feedback. This hands-on learning approach provides students, including those in universities and technical schools, with essential skills crucial for the AI and technology-driven future.

Participants demonstrated a strong enthusiasm for putting their new knowledge into action, echoing sentiments such as, “I want to try creating content” and “I want to experience the whole process, including making improvements.” The feedback from attendees indicated a significant interest in creator education, evidencing the event's positive influence on students’ perceptions regarding technology.

Perspectives from Key Stakeholders

Various stakeholders expressed their opinions during the event. Kaori Kubo, Manager of the Collaboration Center at the Shizuoka Institute of Science and Technology, noted the importance of integrating digital experiences—familiar to students—as stepping stones towards future career paths. She emphasized that the entire process of creation and iterative improvement should be recognized as a fundamental aspect of future educational methodologies.

On the institutional side, Naoya Sugimoto, Executive Officer in the Digital Strategy Division of Shizuoka Prefecture, emphasized the initiative's objective to nurture talent within the XR field. He acknowledged that the series not only enhances digital literacy from a user perspective but also fosters a creator's approach, thereby broadening students’ horizons. Sugimoto reiterated that XR technologies hold great potential for addressing real-world challenges, particularly in areas like disaster prevention, tourism, and education.

Shinko Osada, President of Metaverse Japan, expanded on the argument by stating that in an AI and XR-driven age, it is vital for youth to acquire skills not only in technology comprehension but also in content creation and enhancement. He highlighted Roblox’s significant capabilities as a gateway for the next generation, enabling them to transition from mere players to active creators.

Future Initiatives and Community Impact

As transcosmos moves forward, the company is committed to collaborating with educational institutions, local governments, and businesses to create further opportunities for students to express their creativity through digital platforms. This initiative involves establishing various touchpoints like seminars and workshops aimed at reinforcing connections between learning and creative outputs using platforms such as Roblox. Plans for more interactive events like game jams are also on the horizon, reflecting the organization's proactive approach to talent development.

Overall, the Shizuoka Prefecture XR Endowed Lecture Series serves as an inspiring interlink between education, technology, and community welfare, heralding a new chapter in digital learning that promotes both personal growth and societal advancement. As transcosmos continues to drive forward in this innovative educational landscape, it remains dedicated to its role as a key facilitator of digital transformation and creator empowerment.
