The American Society for Preventive Cardiology (ASPC) has exciting news for the cardiology community. Effective January 1, 2026, Dr. Khurram Nasir will assume the role of Editor-in-Chief for the American Journal of Preventive Cardiology (AJPC). Known for his extensive experience and highly regarded expertise in preventive cardiology, Dr. Nasir's appointment signals a new era for this leading publication in cardiovascular health.

Dr. Nasir is not only the Chief of Cardiovascular Prevention at Houston Methodist but also serves as a Professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell and Co-Director of the Houston Methodist–Rice University Digital Health Institute. His remarkable academic contributions include over 1,000 peer-reviewed publications that delve into pressing topics such as risk prediction, digital health advancements, health equity, and effective prevention strategies that can benefit both individual patients and communities at large.

In his new role as Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Nasir will steer the editorial direction of AJPC, ensuring it remains a reliable resource that publishes high-quality research and innovative ideas in the field of preventive cardiology. He emphasized that his vision revolves around establishing AJPC as the primary platform for cardiovascular prevention sciences globally.
