YUGEN Gallery Fukuoka is excited to announce the opening of the solo exhibition "Art Room Ghost" by the talented artist Tsukue Akimoto, set to begin on November 15, 2025. Located in the heart of Fukuoka, this gallery is a vibrant platform showcasing contemporary Japanese art.

About the Artist

Tsukue Akimoto, who embarked on his artistic journey as a manga artist and illustrator after winning the Grand Prize at the 2nd Hobo Nikkan Itoi Shimbun Manga Award in 2012, has since gained significant recognition in the art world. His career took a pivotal turn in 2017 when he participated in the art fair "UNKNOWN ASIA," establishing his reputation as a prominent artist not just in Japan, but also internationally, holding exhibitions across South Korea, China, Taiwan, and being invited to numerous overseas art fairs.

In this upcoming exhibition, Akimoto returns to his roots in art, focusing on the themes of painting and collage to create a series of works that reflect a fresh perspective on creativity. The title "Art Room" refers to the art classroom where artists experiment and hone their skills, while "Ghost" symbolizes the lingering spirit of the artist himself, a nod to returning to the childhood fascination of creating art.

Exhibition Overview

The concept of the "ghost in the art room" reflects an existence that remains committed to creation outside the conventional frameworks of society and art. This exhibition invites viewers to engage with the remnants of childlike imagination, exploring how art can transcend boundaries. Visitors will also receive a special novelty item: a hand-crafted original sticker designed specifically for this exhibition. The exhibition will last from November 15 to November 27, 2025, with the gallery open from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, except on the last day, when it will close early at 5:00 PM. Admission is free, making it an accessible event for art lovers.
