Midea Building Technologies Showcases Innovative Sustainable Solutions at MCE 2026

Midea Building Technologies' Showcase at MCE 2026

In a remarkable display at the MCE 2026, Midea Building Technologies (MBT) unveiled its latest innovations, solidifying its position as a leader in sustainable building solutions. The event highlighted three key advancements: the V9 VRF system, the R290 heat pump range, and advanced cooling solutions for data centers.

The V9 VRF System

The cornerstone of MBT's presentation was the new V9 VRF system, which integrates two cutting-edge technologies: the ShieldBox II control unit and the eco-friendly refrigerant R32. The
ShieldBox II, crafted from high-quality automotive-grade aluminum die-casting, boasts a 70% reduction in volume allowing for a larger heat exchanger. This design enhancement improves the efficiency of the outdoor unit while maintaining superior operational standards. Its three-zone architecture comes with IP68-rated protection, ensuring reliability in extreme environments. Notably, the V9 uses R32 refrigerant, which not only minimizes environmental impact but has also passed a rigorous three-tier safety assessment from TÜV, establishing its international safety credentials in handling flammable refrigerants.

R290 Heat Pump Range

In addition to the V9, MBT showcased its new R290 heat pump range, which is designed for a variety of applications from residential to industrial use. The Mars Large R290 ATW commercial heat pump, a proud recipient of the MCE Excellence Award, can deliver water output temperatures up to an impressive 85°C while using R290 refrigerant, which is known for its low environmental footprint. This heat pump features a complete DC inverter and dual compressor system, ensuring reliable performance even in challenging conditions. With a compact footprint of just 0.72 m², it achieves an impressive A+++ energy rating, maintaining 100% heating capacity at -10°C ambient temperatures and 65% efficiency at -20°C. Featured models like the Arctic Series M4 and the Mars R290 ATW complete MBT's comprehensive R290 product lineup, signifying a strong push towards natural refrigerants in heating solutions.

Data Center Cooling Solutions

Addressing the cooling requirements of modern data centers, MBT presented liquid cooling solutions through an engaging interactive diorama. These solutions incorporate precision cooling distribution units (CDUs), ventilation panels, and centrifugal chillers with magnetic bearings to achieve an annual Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) as low as 1.2. Key products included the AirBoost Vera centrifugal chiller, designed for efficient performance with water output temperatures reaching 36°C, while maintaining a temperature differential of 20°C. This dual power supply switch and customizable Total Harmonic Distortion (THDi) configuration ensure reliable power supply while promoting sustainability through compatibility with eco-friendly refrigerants.

MBT's solutions are characterized by integrated designs that cater to the evolving ecological transition in Europe. With a steadfast commitment to innovation and sustainability, Midea Building Technologies is dedicated to fostering a future that prioritizes smart, low-carbon solutions in the HVAC industry. Their unwavering focus on improving energy efficiency and environmental responsibility sets a benchmark for competitors and emphasizes the importance of transitioning to greener technologies in building management.

In conclusion, Midea's presentation at MCE 2026 not only showcased their technological prowess but also underscored their dedication to creating a sustainable future in the building technologies sector.
