StoneEagle® Introduces Innovative Pencilwrench Experience at NADA 2026

StoneEagle, recognized as a leader in providing innovative F&I solutions within the automotive sector, is set to unveil a transformative repair story experience at the upcoming NADA Show 2026. This new feature, named Flex Story, is designed to accommodate the intricacies and advancements in modern vehicle diagnostics and repair processes.

The automotive industry has seen a substantial increase in the complexity of vehicles as they become more interconnected and technologically advanced. As a result, the importance of clear and detailed repair documentation has become paramount. Such documentation plays a crucial role in supporting warranty reimbursements and safeguarding dealer revenue while ensuring consistency across service operations.

Cindy Allen, CEO of StoneEagle, emphasized the longstanding role of Pencilwrench in assisting technicians to effectively translate their repair actions into reliable narratives. "For years, Pencilwrench has helped technicians translate their work into consistent, reliable repair stories," stated Allen. She further noted that this latest update aligns with the evolving nature of vehicles and diagnostic techniques without altering the fundamental ways technicians operate.

The Flex Story feature boasts a newly redesigned user interface that allows technicians to kick off a repair story at the system level. This marks a shift from the traditional component-based workflow that Pencilwrench has employed up to now, fostering a more natural alignment with OEM diagnostic procedures. The innovation does not stop there; it integrates a voice-to-text feature that simplifies the documentation process, allowing technicians to easily capture their diagnostic findings and relevant details with less effort.

Technicians will find that the updated interface enhances not only the initiation phase of documentation but also the review and completion stages of their repair stories. A stage-based progress tracker facilitates navigation through previous diagnostics, repairs, and post-repair actions, enabling adjustments without having to restart the entire process. Additionally, the platform's drag-and-drop functionality allows technicians to rearrange steps to reflect the actual workflow, while inline editing tools make it convenient to amend readings or notes directly within the narrative.

Colin Snyder, StoneEagle's Chief Product Officer, pointed out that as vehicles evolve, so too must the tools technicians rely on. He noted, "This evolution of Pencilwrench keeps repair documentation aligned with how diagnostics and service work are changing, and with the role clear, consistent repair stories play across fixed operations."

Visitors are encouraged to explore the innovative Flex Story feature of Pencilwrench at StoneEagle's booth 2109W during the NADA event. Additionally, attendees can look forward to a presentation by Cindy Allen, providing insights from the 2025 year-in-review, scheduled for Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. on the NADA Live Stage.
