Hithium Unveils Advanced AI Energy Storage Solutions for Data Centers

In the quest for sustainability and operational efficiency, Hithium has launched a groundbreaking energy storage solution tailored for AI data centers at RE+ 2025. This innovative offering is crucial for managing the complexities of renewable energy integration and ensures the continuity of data center operations while minimizing their carbon footprint.

The newly unveiled offering includes two variants of the BESS ∞Power systems: one with a capacity of 6.25 MWh and an 8-hour duration, and another with 2.28 MWh and a 1-hour duration. These solutions were designed specifically to meet the unique demands of AI data centers (AIDC) by providing reliable energy storage that addresses the challenges faced by the industry.

As data centers increasingly rely on renewable energy sources, they encounter challenges due to the intermittent nature of these energy supplies. The rapid fluctuations in energy demand and supply require innovative solutions to maintain stability. Hithium recognized that existing storage options often fall short, relying on generalized models that do not fully address the sector's specific needs.

Hithium’s holistic approach incorporates lithium-ion technology for baseline energy load management and sodium-ion technology for handling peak energy demands. This hybrid system ensures that data center operators can respond effectively to both steady-state and surging energy requirements without sacrificing performance or reliability.

Moreover, Hithium is focused on improving the lifespan and efficiency of its energy storage systems. Their specialized life assessment model for AIDC ESS provides detailed insights into system degradation, promoting longevity in dynamic operational contexts where fluctuating loads are the norm. This attention to durability is particularly vital as data centers expand their operational capacities and embrace advanced AI technologies.

“The BESS ∞Power 6.25 MWh system targets auxiliary energy consumption, maximizing efficiency over the long run. Meanwhile, our BESS ∞Power 2.28 MWh system enhances performance under rapid load fluctuations,” shares Kush Sutaria, senior applications engineering director at Hithium. “These advanced capabilities are essential for operators striving to meet the growing energy demands of AI applications.”

In addition to innovative products, Hithium is reinforcing its commitment to the North American market through localized manufacturing and support. Their 10 GWh factory in Texas is fully operational, and the company boasts over 100 engineers located throughout the United States. This regional presence enables Hithium to deliver rapid, reliable service and scalable solutions, ensuring that data centers can implement energy storage systems quickly and efficiently.

As part of its local-to-local strategy, Hithium is setting new benchmarks for energy storage solutions in North America and beyond. Their significant strides in customizing energy storage applications have positioned them as the second-largest global provider of energy storage batteries, achieving rapid growth in the first half of 2025.

By addressing the pressing challenges in energy storage for data centers, Hithium’s latest innovations mark a pivotal step toward enhanced sustainability and operational efficiency. With energy demands on the rise, sectors are looking for solutions that enable a seamless transition to cleaner energy practices, and Hithium is poised to lead this charge into a sustainable future.
