Nanako Yoshida's Solo Exhibition: "empty smile"
Starting April 25, 2025, the Harajuku gallery will host Nanako Yoshida's solo exhibition titled "empty smile," curated by Yasumasa Yonehara. This exhibition follows her 2024 showcase, "PLAY A X ROLE," and highlights her unique vision centered around playful motifs of ducks and girls.
Exhibition Statement
In her latest work, Nanako draws inspiration from her past experiences and the things she loves, particularly the rubber duck and the whimsical girls she creates in her artwork. Throughout the display, she transforms negative emotions into something appealing, using her beloved motifs to craft an adorable, duck-filled environment. This exploration invites visitors into a vibrant narrative that contrasts light-heartedness with the complexities of human emotions.
