An Artistic Celebration of Music and Creativity
In the vibrant neighborhood of Nishiazabu, Tokyo, an art exhibition titled "The Vase for Bouquet" is currently showcasing the creative journey of Ryota Katayose. This event marks a special occasion, celebrating the release of his much-anticipated solo album, "Bouquet". Running until August 30, 2025, this exhibition invites art and music enthusiasts alike to immerse themselves in a themed experience that intertwines both worlds.
At the heart of the exhibition lies a grand 4-meter-long piece created by artist Takanosuke Yasui, prominently displayed at the entrance. This artwork was crafted in collaboration with Katayose for the music video of his album track, "Asahi no you ni, Yume wo Mite" (Like the Morning Sun, Dreaming). Accompanying this large-scale work is a new sculpture, standing about 2 meters tall, also designed by Yasui specifically for this exhibition.
In addition to Yasui's contributions, the exhibition features works from five artists whose creativity has been nurtured through Katayose's art-focused program, "MEET YOUR ART". This collection includes floral-themed pieces crafted by Kei Imai, Yuki Suga, and Masahiro Masuda from Studio Koudai, inspired by aspects of the album. New expressions from Kentarō Kawabata are also featured alongside Katayose's personal collection, adds depth to the exhibition.
Further inside the venue, the exhibition recreates a serene study space, as referenced in the album’s booklet preface. This area includes carefully curated books and furniture, and the fragrance designer Kan Izumi crafts an immersive sensory experience, enhancing the overall ambiance.
The merchandise area showcases unique products designed in line with the exhibition’s themes. Flower artist Ako Kawamura has crafted boutonnieres, while exclusive merchandise featuring the event's logo and Katayose’s branding, including T-shirts and tote bags, are available. There’s also an assortment of fragrances created by Izumi and offerings of specially selected domestic natural wines curated alongside Katayose himself.
Visitors are encouraged to explore an atmosphere where art, fragrance, and music converge, promising a memorable experience. Special guest artist appearances are slated for August 16 and August 23 at 16:30 for those wishing to meet the creators behind the exhibited works. A special talk event featuring Ryota Katayose and Takanosuke Yasui will conclude the exhibition on August 30. This session will delve into behind-the-scenes stories of the album and their artistic collaboration. Limited access is available, with only 30 spots reserved for attendees.
