Burton's 'Planet' Artist Collection Launches Soon

Burton Snowboards is excited to announce the launch of its latest Artist Collection named ‘Planet’, featuring original artworks by renowned artists LY, yoshi47, and Hiroyuki Yamada. This exclusive collection will be available starting November 29, 2025, across Burton’s flagship stores in Harajuku, Sapporo, Nagano, Osaka, as well as on Burton.com. This collaboration emphasizes Burton's commitment to art and sustainability, encapsulated by the brand’s core philosophy centered around the theme of ‘Planet.’

The three participating artists, each with unique styles and visions, have transformed snowboards into stunning canvases. Their artworks reflect their individual connections to nature and the importance of environmental awareness. The Family Tree model, handcrafted at Burton's prototype factory in Burlington, Vermont, serves as the base for their creative expressions.

Artist Profiles and Inspirations

LY

Born in Tokyo, LY is a painter whose works evoke the tranquility and beauty of snow-covered mountains. In his snowboard artwork, the serene imagery of falling snow and rustling leaves creates a whimsical world where nature interacts with characters, particularly his monster ‘LUV’. LY aims to express the relationship between humanity and nature, encouraging reflection on our planet’s well-being.

yoshi47

As a Burton ambassador and artist, yoshi47 merges elements of street art with personal narrative. His snowboard design incorporates the motif of ‘tsubo’, a traditional Japanese symbol of prosperity and reflection. Through this motif, yoshi47 envisions a conversation between humanity and nature, encapsulating a desire for a better planet. His commitment to environmental themes aligns perfectly with Burton's initiative for sustainability.

Hiroyuki Yamada

A prominent photographer known for his work documenting snowboarding, Yamada's contribution to the collection addresses the urgency of climate change. His design focuses on the vanishing glaciers and shifting natural landscapes, conveying a poignant message about coexisting with nature. The Family Tree Sensei snowboard acts as a canvas, merging art and advocacy for a sustainable future.

Burton is committed to donating a portion of the sales from the Artist Collection to ‘Protect Our Winters Japan’ (POW JAPAN), an organization dedicated to achieving a decarbonized society within the snow community. To celebrate the collection’s launch, there will be a reception at the Burton Flagship Store in Harajuku on November 28, 2025, from 7 PM to 9 PM, with free admission for all.
