Enhancing Convenience: New Print Support Features at Seven-Eleven Using Microsoft Copilot
In a bid to improve the usability of multi-copy machines installed in approximately 21,000 Seven-Eleven locations across Japan, Fuji Film Business Innovation Corporation (based in Minato-ku, Tokyo) has announced a new initiative to develop print support features utilizing Microsoft Copilot, a generative AI assistant by Microsoft. The aim is to streamline the printing process for users utilizing the network print service, with an expected launch by the end of the fiscal year 2026.
The new functionality allows users to interact with Copilot via their PCs or tablets, providing commands either through text or voice. For instance, a user can instruct Copilot by saying, “I want to print at Seven-Eleven’s network print service.” This will enable users to register their desired printing materials, select printing settings, and obtain necessary print reservation numbers or QR codes needed to complete their printing tasks. By dialoguing with Copilot, users can prepare for printing without accessing a dedicated online print site, significantly reducing the steps necessary for using network print services.
For example, individuals without a personal printer at home can efficiently print out various documents, applications, or images they created, while field sales personnel needing printed materials during client visits can also use Copilot for streamlined printing solutions.
