SHEIN's Commitment to Women's Empowerment
In a significant move to bolster women's economic independence, SHEIN, the global online fashion and lifestyle brand, is extending its collaboration with the nonprofit organization Dress for Success. This partnership aims to foster more inclusive and sustainable communities in regions where SHEIN operates, with a newly added focus on three Canadian cities: Montreal, Ottawa, and Vancouver.
What is Dress for Success?
Dress for Success is a renowned international nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women by providing them with the tools, resources, and support needed to thrive in their careers and personal lives. Since first partnering with Dress for Success Greater London in 2019, SHEIN has worked alongside various members of the Dress for Success global network to strengthen their shared commitment to assisting women in becoming economically self-sufficient.
Supporting Women in Regional Communities
By 2025, SHEIN and the SHEIN Foundation will support the activities of Dress for Success network members across several international cities, including London in the UK, Chattanooga and Indianapolis in the USA, Rome in Italy, Singapore, and the new additions in Canada. Their funding initiatives will focus on a range of programs designed to aid women in preparing for employment and building their careers.
United Kingdom - London
In London, SHEIN is sponsoring the annual 'Power of Women Award' ceremony, recognizing the contributions of women in the community. With over 1,000 business-appropriate outfits donated, SHEIN's support is projected to assist 750 women by 2025.
Singapore
In Singapore, SHEIN's collaboration has already seen 119 women supported, featuring professional image consultation along with photography sessions and skill development workshops. Additionally, the organization sponsored a dinner celebrating the 10th anniversary of the operating entity, Image Mission.
United States - Chattanooga
In Chattanooga, ongoing programs like the Professional Women’s Group have been enriched with SHEIN's support. The second annual fundraising gala, 'CelebrateHer,' will continue to uplift women's professional journeys, aiming to support over 236 women by 2025—a staggering 490% increase since its inception in 2023.
United States - Indianapolis
Through coaching tailored for career and confidence-building, SHEIN is making strides in Indianapolis as well. By offering personalized career development coaching and professional styling services, they expect to serve 1,088 women and assist in the employment of 115 individuals by 2025.
Italy - Rome
SHEIN's funding also fuels the continuous operation of a multifunctional center in Rome, introducing a new career support initiative called 'Ascolto Donna.' This program has already supported over 70 women since its launch in March 2025.
Canada - Ottawa
In Ottawa, SHEIN is aiding 94 clients in participating in the core styling program, alongside efforts that raised more than CAD 40,000 during the fundraising event 'Stepping Forward: A Night of High Fashion.'
Canada - Montreal
In Montreal, 140 women facing systemic barriers in employment have benefited from the dressing service program, which provides business attire and one-on-one coaching to enhance their job readiness.
