OGE Energy Announces Strong Performance in Second Quarter of 2026

OGE Energy Corp. Reports Second Quarter 2026 Results

OGE Energy Corp. (NYSE: OGE), the parent company of Oklahoma Gas and Electric Company (commonly referred to as OG&E), released its financial results for the second quarter ending June 30, 2026. During this period, the company achieved earnings of $0.56 per diluted share, a modest increase from $0.53 per diluted share recorded in the same quarter of the previous year. This uptick in earnings reflects OGE's robust business strategy and effective operational execution.

The electric utility segment, which forms the core of OGE’s operations, reported earnings of $0.58 per diluted share for this quarter, up from $0.53 per diluted share in Q2 of 2025. This strong performance can be attributed primarily to the successful recovery of capital investments and decreased interest expenses at OGE.

However, it was a mixed picture for OGE’s other operations, which incurred a loss of $0.02 per diluted share compared to an earlier break-even result a year back. This decline was largely due to elevated interest expenses and a one-time benefit from prior midstream operations recognized the previous year. Overall, net income for OGE Energy Corp. reached $116.3 million in Q2 2026, marking an increase from the $107.5 million recorded in Q2 2025.

Speaking about the company's performance, Sean Trauschke, Chairman, President, and CEO of OGE Energy Corp., emphasized the organization’s commitment to providing reliable and economical service for its customers while preparing for future growth. In his statement, he noted, "Our second-quarter results reflect the strength of our business and the disciplined execution of our team as we advance investments that support reliable, affordable service for customers."

Financial Analysis

The earnings increase can mainly be attributed to increased operating revenues offsetting other expenses such as operational and maintenance costs. OGE's total operating revenues in Q2 were reported at $711.9 million, a decrease from $741.6 million a year ago. Despite this decrease, the company has successfully managed costs in various areas, leading to improved overall income.

For the six months ending June 30, 2026, OGE recorded total revenues of $1.464 billion, down from $1.489 billion in the same period last year. This reflects an ongoing effort to optimize operational efficiency while maintaining service quality. The cooling degree days during this reporting period were significantly below normal for the year, impacting electricity consumption patterns, although cooling degree days did improve compared to the actual figures from 2025.

Future Outlook

As we move forward in 2026, OGE Energy has maintained its consolidated earnings guidance at $2.43 per average diluted share, projecting a range of $2.38 to $2.48. This outlook is predicated on the assumption of regular weather patterns throughout the year, a critical factor considering the seasonal nature of the company's income.

The outlook reflects OGE’s commitment to pursuing incremental growth while also strategizing effectively to meet the needs of new customers and supporting economic development initiatives.

OGE Energy Corp. will hold a conference call to discuss these earnings results and other business insights on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at 8 a.m. CDT. Investors and interested parties can access the call through the investor center at www.oge.com.

In conclusion, the second-quarter report of 2026 demonstrates OGE Energy's resilient performance in a competitive landscape. The company remains focused on its strategic goals to enhance shareholder value while prioritizing the reliable electricity services that its customers depend on.
