Introduction
On May 21, 2026, Cybozu Inc., headquartered in Chuo-ku, Tokyo, entered into a comprehensive partnership agreement with Toyama Prefecture to promote digital transformation (DX) initiatives across the region. This agreement marks a significant step in accelerating the DX efforts in Toyama, leveraging the strong relationship established between the two parties over the past few years.
Background of the Agreement
Since its implementation of kintone in 2022, Toyama Prefecture has greatly enhanced its operational efficiency. Collaboratively, both parties have engaged in studies and workshops aimed at integrating DX tools into the prefectural government’s workflow. Beginning in April 2025, Toyama Prefectural employees will be stationed at Cybozu, allowing them to acquire skills and insights to facilitate kintone training sessions back at the prefecture.
This new agreement aims to bolster their cooperation and enhance the overall digital transformation of economic sectors throughout Toyama Prefecture. With a focus on exchanging knowledge and expertise, both Cybozu and Toyama are committed to improving regional productivity and convenience through advanced DX initiatives.
Key Content of the Agreement
The partnership outlines several crucial measures for collaboration:
1. Joint promotion of DX and data utilization within Toyama, including sharing successful case studies with local municipalities and countries.
2. Encouragement of reform in work practices among prefectural staff.
3. Training and development of digital talent.
4. Support for industry DX initiatives and productivity enhancement.
5. IT support during disaster scenarios.
6. Additional activities necessary to achieve the partnership's objectives.
