KIIT's Achievement in the 2025 THE Asia University Rankings

Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) has made headlines once again, demonstrating impressive growth in the latest Times Higher Education (THE) Asia University Rankings. With the announcement made on April 25, 2025, KIIT has soared to the 184th rank in Asia, climbing up from last year's 196. This leap is not just a number; it signifies the university's ongoing commitment to academic excellence and global recognition.

Noteworthy Rankings

In this year’s rankings, KIIT stands out as the 8th best university in India, surpassing numerous esteemed institutions, both governmental and private. This honor also solidifies its position as the top-ranked deemed university in Eastern and Northern India. Particularly impressive is KIIT's ranking of 2nd in Sports Science across the nation, showcasing its diverse strengths and specialized programs.

The 2025 edition of THE Asia University Rankings featured 853 universities from 35 countries, leveraging a robust assessment framework based on performance metrics such as research, teaching quality, knowledge dissemination, and international outlook. A total of 18 performance indicators were utilized in the evaluation, ensuring a reliable reflection of each institution's capabilities.

Acknowledgment of Collective Effort

Prof. Achyuta Samanta, the founder of KIIT, expressed his gratitude towards the dedicated faculty, staff, students, alumni, and supporters who contributed to this achievement. He emphasized that this recognition is a testament to the collective efforts and the mission-driven culture integral to KIIT's identity. "We share this success with every individual who believes in our values," stated Prof. Samanta.

Consistent Global Recognition

KIIT has consistently appeared in various esteemed global rankings, including THE World University Rankings and QS Rankings. The institution has not only secured these rankings but also earned vital international accreditations such as IET and ABET, which further strengthen its stature as a leading hub for higher education.

Despite being relatively young at just 27 years old, KIIT has outperformed many long-established universities, some of which have existed for over half a century. This remarkable feat reflects KIIT's strategic planning and implementation of quality education, culminating in its deemed-to-be-university status only 21 years ago.

Conclusion

KIIT's ascent in the THE Asia University Rankings illustrates its dedication to providing high-quality education and research opportunities. As it continues to thrive, the institution sets a compelling example for newer universities and upholds its vision of excellence in higher education on a global scale.
