Immerse Yourself in Art: RÊVE DES LUMIÈRES Opens in Tokyo Dream Park
Television Asahi is bringing a unique digital art experience to Japan with the introduction of "RÊVE DES LUMIÈRES," a groundbreaking facility inspired by the renowned "ATELIER DES LUMIÈRES" in France. Set to open in the early summer of 2026 within the Tokyo Dream Park, which launches on March 27, this venue marks the 10th installation of the global Lumières series.
Concept of RÊVE DES LUMIÈRES
The name "RÊVE DES LUMIÈRES" translates to "Dream of Lights," encapsulating the essence of the Tokyo Dream Park. Here, the French terms "RÊVE" meaning "dream" and "LUMIÈRES" meaning "lights" are beautifully combined. This facility is designed from the ground up to offer visitors an unparalleled art experience. With an expansive area of approximately 1,200 square meters and equipped with over 100 state-of-the-art Epson projectors and around 60 speakers, the interplay of light and sound creates an immersive environment that captivates all the senses.
In this giant space, visitors will find themselves enveloped in dynamic and moving artwork, akin to taking a shower in art. The experience promises not only to draw you into the world of various masterpieces but also to inspire and awaken your creativity. At RÊVE DES LUMIÈRES, every moment spent in this artistic oasis is a chance to connect deeply with art, encouraging everyone, irrespective of their familiarity with art, to enjoy and appreciate its beauty.
Grand Opening and Feature Program
The inaugural exhibit will feature works by the legendary Vincent van Gogh, allowing audiences to delve into the emotions and stories behind his creations in a way never experienced before. This first program is designed to be a dreamlike journey into the vibrant world of Van Gogh.
The Success of the Lumières Series
Culturespaces, the company responsible for the Lumières series, has established itself as a leader in digital art venues across Europe since 1990. Under the guidance of Aurélien Bosc, Culturespaces has successfully combined classic masterpieces with cutting-edge technology in innovative exhibitions, opening the original Atelier des Lumières in Paris in 2018. To date, the series has attracted over 21.5 million visitors across nine locations in five countries, appealing to both art aficionados and casual visitors.
Epson's Technological Partnership
Epson Sales Corporation has been appointed as the technical partner for RÊVE DES LUMIÈRES, providing high-performance projectors that ensure high brightness and resolution. The advanced Epson EB-PU2213B projectors will be utilized to create stunning visuals that bring art to life on vast walls and floors, enhancing the immersive experience for all attendees. With over 13,000 lumens of brightness and 4K enhancement technology, these projectors will deliver a captivating and vivid projection that elevates the art appreciation experience.
