CeraVe Hosts Inaugural Global CerAwards Celebrating 111 Influencers from 22 Countries
CeraVe, a globally renowned skincare brand developed in collaboration with dermatologists and endorsed by more than 90,000 dermatologists worldwide, recently held its inaugural Global CerAwards in Los Angeles. This prestigious event gathered 111 award-winning content creators from 22 different countries to recognize their outstanding contributions to skincare education and content creation.
The Global CerAwards was the culmination of a yearly competition, initially launched in Spain in 2023. The competition aims to highlight exceptional skincare content created by dermatologists and health professionals. This year, local contests were held in 22 countries, attracting over 5,000 entries. Ultimately, the top creators competed in Los Angeles, presenting their work to an international jury to be crowned as leaders in the skincare content landscape.
CeraVe has established a significant global footprint, boasting over 15 million followers and billions of video views across various platforms. This immense reach is largely attributed to the efforts of content creators and medical influencers who have metamorphosed CeraVe into one of the most discussed skincare brands on social media. The attendees of the Global CerAwards collectively represented an astonishing following of more than 44 million, highlighting the influential creator community that continues to advance dermatological experiences to audiences worldwide.
At the heart of the Global CerAwards was CeraVe Studios, an immersive content creation experience designed for the creators. Taking place in Hollywood, CeraVe Studios featured meticulously crafted sets, professional actors, and stunt specialists, challenging creators to push the limits of skincare narrative. The set held four unique experiences designed to bring CeraVe's latest innovations and cleansers to life:
1. Raywatch: Inspired by the iconic Malibu slow-motion run, creators raced through a simulated beach environment, showcasing how CeraVe sunscreens resist sand.
2. The SPF Games: Participants had three seconds to run, hide, and protect themselves with giant CeraVe sunscreens, adding an element of urgency as those who failed to shield themselves were sprayed with water, while the sunscreen remained unaffected.
3. Stunt N' Sweat: In a thrilling rooftop chase, creators navigated obstacles under the sun, testing their physical limits while demonstrating the effectiveness of CeraVe's hydrating sunscreen.
4. Mission Cleanser: Attendees quickly maneuvered through a laser-ridden stage to access CeraVe’s foaming facial cleanser, with lasers symbolizing compromised skin barriers.
These experiences transformed product efficacy into engaging narratives led by creators, illustrating the science behind CeraVe’s formulas, which include three essential ceramides that are identical to those found in skin.
The Global CerAwards concluded with an elegant ceremony at the historic Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles, where creators gathered to celebrate their talents, creativity, and originality that continues shaping online skincare culture. Hosted by actress and comedian Meg Stalter, the ceremony featured a jury that included actress Bailee Madison, certified dermatologist and creator Dr. Andrew Park, and Gene Colón, CeraVe's Senior Global Vice President of Medical Affairs and Communications.
At the ceremony, the first winners of the Global CerAwards were unveiled, earning their positions in the Ceramide Squad, a collective of CeraVe creators celebrating extraordinary creativity within the community while honoring key content developed throughout the journey.
