Ami Suzuki Shines at Seven-Eleven's Spicy Summer Gourmet Event
On July 29, 2025, Seven-Eleven Japan, headquartered in Tokyo, held a special event to unveil its 'Spicy Summer Gourmet' campaign. This initiative, running from July 29 to August 11, includes over 20 delectable spicy dishes that customers can enjoy during the sweltering summer heat.
The event featured Tatsuya Sato, Senior Merchandiser for Rice and Noodles at Seven-Eleven Japan, who expressed the rationale behind the initiative. He pointed out that as summer heats up, there is an increasing demand for spicy flavors, which can combat summer fatigue and heatstroke. "In this ongoing spicy trend, we have developed products that combine heat with rich flavors across seven categories and over 20 items," Sato said passionately. He also encouraged attendees to try these products and overcome the summer blues with flavorful spice.
Known affectionately as 'Spicy Ami-go,' Ami Suzuki was the special guest at the event, stepping onto the stage dressed in a vibrant red dress that resembled chili peppers, capturing the audience's attention. With a big smile, she explained, "As a lover of spicy food, red is my lucky color!" Throughout the event, Suzuki shared cheerful stories from her 'family corner' and revealed unexpected tidbits about herself, like her fear of roller coasters. She also excitedly recounted a memorable self-portrait with DJ KOO from her 27th anniversary concert, which brought much laughter to the audience.
As a certified spice sommelier, Suzuki took on the role of a spicy food ambassador, tasting several items from the 'Spicy Summer Gourmet' lineup, including 'Ginza Delhi Supervised Spice Dry Curry Onigiri' and 'Hot Spicy Sundubu.' During her tasting of the 'Ginza Delhi Supervised Spice Dry Curry Onigiri,' she remarked, "The aroma is incredible, and the spices are well-balanced! While onigiri usually has a gentle image, this one is definitely bold!" She even dubbed it "Ami-go's favorite curry onigiri!"
Amazingly, she also tried a special version of the 'Hot Spicy Sundubu,' created just for her, featuring ten times the usual amount of red chili peppers. "It's really spicy! The heat matches my usual flavor preferences! It's hearty and packed with the deliciousness of clams and pork," she enthusiastically described, all while sporting a confident smile. The audience erupted in applause and amazement at her reaction.
As the event concluded, she encouraged spicy food lovers across the nation, saying, "There are many fans of spicy dishes who will welcome this opportunity from Seven-Eleven to enjoy authentic spicy cuisine. If you're feeling drained this summer, be sure to visit Seven-Eleven for a delicious spicy meal. I know I will!"
