Explore Unique Vintage Tractors at the BigIron and Sullivan Auction Event

Get Ready for a Vintage Tractor Auction!

The anticipation is building as BigIron and Sullivan Auctioneers gear up for one of the most exciting events in the agricultural calendar – the Farm Progress Auction. Scheduled to take place on August 27, 2025, during the renowned Farm Progress Show in Decatur, IL, this year’s auction will highlight a remarkable collection of vintage tractors that will delight enthusiasts and collectors alike.

Auction Preview Day

On August 14, from 10 AM to 2 PM, the public is invited to attend the auction preview and media day at Sullivan Auctioneers' headquarters located in Hamilton, Illinois. Here, attendees will have the chance to view nearly 50 lots featuring rare and vintage farming equipment that rarely appears on the market. Curated by industry leaders, this auction promises to showcase unique machines that celebrate the rich heritage of agriculture.

Special Donations for a Noble Cause

Among the featured tractors, three exceptional models have been donated to benefit Farm Rescue, a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting farming and ranching families in times of unexpected hardship. These tractors illustrate the spirit of community and generosity:

  • - 1976 John Deere 4230 2WD Tractor - In outstanding condition with just 2,944 hours of use, this unit features a Quad Range transmission, a Sound-Gard cab, and a new interior. It’s a true collector’s item, donated by Dan Sullivan.
  • - 1988 John Deere 755 2WD Compact Utility Tractor - Showing only 595 hours, this compact tractor is perfect for small farms or utility tasks, generously donated by Joe Swindell.
  • - 1986 Ford 1710 2WD Tractor - With just 617 hours on the clock, this model, donated by John Sullivan, is another gem you won’t want to miss.

The proceeds from these auctions will directly support Farm Rescue's critical mission, ensuring that families in rural America receive the help they need during times of crisis. As Terry Johnston, Manager of Industry Engagement at Farm Rescue, expressed, “We are deeply grateful for the shared commitment to rural communities demonstrated by Sullivan Auctioneers and BigIron.”

Rare Items Awaiting Bidders

In addition to the donated tractors, the auction will feature a host of other remarkable vintage items. Bidders can look forward to:
  • - A John Deere 8560 four-wheel-drive tractor,
  • - A vintage 1978 Plymouth Trailduster,
  • - A classic 1976 Ford F100 Ranger four-wheel-drive pickup,
  • - And a pristine 1953 Farmall Super M.

These items embody the essence of nostalgia and are sure to attract bids from collectors and enthusiasts looking to add unique pieces to their collections.
