Gougin Energy and Clean Energy Connect Establish Partnership for Off-Site Corporate PPA Services
Gougin Energy Inc., located in Matsue City, Shimane, and Clean Energy Connect, based in Chiyoda, Tokyo, have signed a business alliance agreement aimed at addressing the decarbonization and renewable energy challenges faced by municipalities and enterprises. Through this partnership, they will offer green power solutions, including an Off-Site Corporate PPA Service, contributing to local decarbonization efforts in the San'in region.
Launching the First Service with San-in Godo Bank
As the first initiative under this partnership, Gougin Energy, with the support of Clean Energy Connect, will provide the Off-Site Corporate PPA Service specifically tailored for San-in Godo Bank, beginning April 1, 2026. The service aims to reduce CO2 emissions for the bank significantly.
Aiming for a 13% Reduction in CO2 Emissions
The Off-Site Corporate PPA Service for San-in Godo Bank will involve the development of eleven exclusive Non-FIT small solar power plants. The generated electricity and environmental value from these plants will be supplied to the bank's 30 branches, achieving an estimated annual CO2 reduction effect of approximately 500 tons, which corresponds to about 13% of the bank’s Scope-2 emissions compared to FY2024.
Enhancing Resilience During Disasters
In an effort to contribute to community resilience during power outages caused by disasters, the newly developed Non-FIT small solar power plants will incorporate the "Sonaeru Socket®" provided by Clean Energy Connect. This special socket allows local residents to utilize electricity generated from solar power during outages, enhancing disaster preparedness in the surrounding areas.
Gougin Energy and Clean Energy Connect aim to improve disaster resilience in the regions where their plants are installed through this initiative.
Showcasing Concrete CO2 Reduction Examples
Both Gougin Energy and Clean Energy Connect will highlight this collaboration with San-in Godo Bank as a tangible example of corporate CO2 reduction. The companies are committed to supporting municipalities and enterprises in achieving decarbonization through specific solutions while contributing to local decarbonization efforts.
