Sawgrass LNG Celebrates Eight Years of LNG Supply to The Bahamas

On December 13, 2025, Sawgrass LNG & Power proudly marked a significant milestone: eight years of exporting liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the Commonwealth of The Bahamas. This momentous occasion highlights the successful partnership between the United States and The Bahamas in energy cooperation. Since the inaugural LNG shipment was made in December 2017, Sawgrass has completed thousands of safe and reliable deliveries to various clients across multiple Bahamian islands, ranging from industrial users to power generators.

American LNG Marketing LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sawgrass, is the only company to have transported LNG from the continental United States to The Bahamas.
In 2016, American LNG Marketing made history as the first exporter of LNG from the continental U.S. to a country that isn’t part of the Free Trade Agreement, beginning its journey by supplying LNG to Barbados. This achievement marked a new chapter in the U.S. commitment to energy support in the region, followed by the initial shipment to The Bahamas a year later.
