City Green Fes. 2026: An Ethical Urban Festival in Shibuya
The
City Green Fes. 2026 is set to take place on
May 23rd and 24th, 2026, at
MIYASHITA PARK in Tokyo's vibrant
Shibuya district. Organized by the
Meiji Street Miyashita Park Shopping Association and the non-profit
City Green, along with
HOKULEA, this festival aims to fuse urban life with nature, art, and wellness under the mission of "connecting urban spaces with greenery and ethical culture."
Festival Vision and Concept
The festival's theme,
RE:WILDING TOKYO, emphasizes the need for a connection with nature amidst the technology-driven backdrop of Tokyo. The aim is to reimagine the concept of "ethical" not as a burden, but as the coolest form of culture. The motto, "Rewilding your city, rewilding yourself," invites everyone to participate and realize positive choices for the planet through enjoyment and engagement.
Key Features of City Green Fes. 2026
Several leading companies and over 30 ethical brands are already committed to participating in this exciting event. With the addition of initiatives involving local community groups and students, the festival promises to transform Shibuya from a consumer hub into a thriving circular economy.
1. Scene: A Revolutionary Urban Space
Over the two festival days, a space for
10,000 attendees will be created in the park, showcasing a sustainable environment designed with natural materials. Participants will be able to feel a sense of tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of the city, contributing to the realization of
sustainable urban tourism that Shibuya aims to achieve.
2. Action: Clean-up Activities
Connecting the venue to the community, the festival will host a large-scale
clean-up initiative, partnering with local business associations and community groups. This program promotes the culture that those who enjoy the city should also take care of it. Additionally, on the Sunday of the festival, participants can join a
plogging event in collaboration with
Women’s Health, where runners will pick up trash while they jog, creating a unique "Trash Pickup Run" experience.
3. Content: Diverse Experiences
Festival attendees can look forward to a range of activities that engage all senses:
- - Wellness Sessions featuring wellness influencers and fitness trainers, providing yoga and fitness classes.

5. Community Impact
The collaboration extends to surrounding local shops and businesses, forming partnerships to foster community engagement and natural restoration efforts. Proceeds from the festival will help in initiatives to reinvigorate forests in Nagano, establishing a direct cycle of benefitting nature through enjoyment in Shibuya.
