ADF Art Gallery Project Vol.37: Isana Shinomiya's Exhibit
The ADF (Aoyama Design Forum), a non-profit organization, is excited to announce the opening of its 37th art project featuring the remarkable works of artist Isana Shinomiya. Titled
'Eventually Burning and Shining,' this unique exhibition will be held from
February 7 to February 21, 2025, at the
GARDE Gallery in Omotesando, Tokyo.
An opening reception is scheduled for
February 6 from
18:30 to 21:00, where art enthusiasts are invited to immerse themselves in the enchanting atmosphere and engage with the artist's vision.
Isana Shinomiya is a photographer who believes that visuals possess the power to convey emotions more intuitively than words. Her latest creation, 'Eventually Burning and Shining,' aspires to craft an exhibition space that communicates in a non-verbal manner. Inspired by the experiences of a deaf girl, the project will utilize music instead of dialogues, presenting a poignant narrative without relying on traditional speech. The exhibition features a captivating
50-minute film and a
140-page photo book, as well as panels combining both modern storytelling mediums.
Throughout her body of work, Shinomiya weaves stories using photographs and text. With a focus on memories that linger in the interplay of light and shadow, her portraits reflect moments of resilience and hope, illustrating individuals who strive to move forward despite their scars.
About Isana Shinomiya
Born and raised in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Isana developed a passion for photography after graduating from the photography seminar at Wako University’s Faculty of Expressive Arts. Beginning her photographic journey in 2017, she sought to preserve the evolving essence of her emotions. In 2020, she fully embraced her artistic identity under her name, Shinomiya Isana, focusing on youth and the mesmerizing luminosity of girls.
