On August 3, 2026, ASIFA-Hollywood officially opened the call for submissions for the highly anticipated 54th Annie Awards™. Scheduled for February 20, 2027, at the iconic Royce Hall in UCLA, this annual celebration recognizes outstanding achievements in the animation industry.

The Annie Awards cover 37 different categories this year. These include:

• - Various Achievement and Honorary Awards

A significant addition to this year's awards is the Best International Anime Production for TV/Media, which acknowledges global productions that embody essential anime techniques and traditions. Michael Paxton, Executive Producer of the Annie Awards, expressed excitement about this new category, marking a commitment to honoring the growth and globalization of animation.

Submission Guidelines and Deadlines

To submit your work for consideration, visit Annie Awards Submission. Eligible entries must be animated productions that premiered in the United States between January 1, 2026, and December 31, 2026. However, exceptions apply to short subjects, special projects, student films, and films from Annie Award qualifying festivals, allowing for submissions regardless of a U.S. release.

The submission period runs from August 3, 2026, to November 30, 2026. Fees for submissions vary based on the timing of the entries, ranging from $200 to $325. Early filing is encouraged to secure the best rates.

Special Nomination Opportunities

Additionally, August 3 also marks the start of the Honorary Juried Award Nominations, open until October 12, 2026. The Annual Membership Drive is also in effect and will continue until February 4, 2027. As part of the process, ASIFA-Hollywood will conduct a Call for Judges starting on October 12, 2026. Those interested in judging must apply anew this cycle, regardless of previous applications.
