IPSY and Gabrielle Union Collaborate to Honor Black History Month with Empowering Beauty Box

IPSY and Gabrielle Union Unite for Black History Month

In a groundbreaking collaboration, IPSY, the leading beauty subscription service, has teamed up with actress and entrepreneur Gabrielle Union to celebrate Black History Month. This partnership highlights the importance of self-expression and the beauty journey for everyone, particularly within the Black community.

Starting February 1st, the Icon Box by Gabrielle Union will be available, featuring a curated selection of Gabrielle's favorite beauty products. This unique box will include renowned brands such as LYS Beauty, Kosas, Elemis, and Benefit Cosmetics, along with products from Union’s own line, Flawless by Gabrielle Union. Each item has been chosen to help participants navigate their daily beauty routines while embracing their true selves.

Gabrielle Union expressed her excitement about the collaboration, stating, “Collaborating with IPSY on the Icon Box and taking part in its Black History Month social content has been such a meaningful experience for me. As a Black female founder, it’s important to me to highlight the joy found in self-expression and the vibrancy of the Black experience.” This sentiment resonates deeply with IPSY's mission to empower consumers, offering them tools and products to celebrate their diverse identities.

In conjunction with the Icon Box launch, Gabrielle will narrate the upcoming IPSY social campaign titled Black Joy Is Beautiful. This short film aims to promote the importance of embracing and loving one's authentic self. The campaign illustrates the narratives of confidence and beauty within Black culture and will be featured prominently across IPSY's social media platforms.

Kristy Westrup, IPSY’s Chief Merchandising Officer, highlighted Union’s commitment to authenticity. “As a founder of Flawless by Gabrielle Union, an actress, wife, mother, and activist, she constantly refines her look to show up as her most-authentic self in all her roles. This partnership embodies a spirit of authenticity and inspires our community,” she said.

Additionally, IPSY plans to promote several Black-owned brands throughout February, including Fenty Beauty, Briogeo, Danessa Myricks, Pat McGrath Labs, and Buttah Skin. The integration of these brands into the IPSY Shop underscores the company’s dedication to supporting diversity and inclusivity in the beauty industry.

Another exciting initiative includes Limited Edition Mystery Bags designed by talented students from Project Level, a nonprofit organization aimed at fostering creativity in underserved youth. These bags will feature unique designs that pay homage to the beauty of hair, showcasing IPSY's commitment to creativity and community engagement.

Fans eager to secure this special Icon Box can sign up for an IPSY subscription, with the Icon Box featuring eight premium beauty products worth up to $350, all for just $65. Subscribers to IPSY’s Glam Bag and BoxyCharm can look forward to enhancing their beauty collection with this exclusive offering.

Gabrielle Union’s brand, Flawless, was launched to address the specific needs of textured hair, marking her as a transformative figure in the beauty space. Her advocacy for inclusion and diversity not only enriches the beauty community but also creates a broader cultural impact.
