Adena Health Breaks Ground on a New Future in Healthcare
A significant transition in the healthcare landscape of Fayette County commenced on June 11, 2025, marked by the groundbreaking of the
Adena Fayette Medical Center. This project represents a commitment to enhancing community health and well-being, continuing a legacy of care that has thrived for over seventy years. The new medical center will serve as a pivotal asset for the region, ensuring improved access to care and driving economic growth.
Jeff Graham, President and CEO of Adena, stated, "The new Adena Fayette Medical Center represents more than just an upgraded hospital. It's our promise to Fayette County to deliver exceptional care, advanced treatments, and compassionate service for generations to come." He emphasized that while the healthcare sector is rapidly evolving across the nation, rural communities like Fayette deserve modernized facilities and innovative care solutions.
Vision of Advanced Care
Slated for completion in 2027, the
Adena Fayette Medical Center is set to cover 65,000 square feet, featuring a 25-bed critical access hospital equipped to handle a variety of medical needs. The facility aims to enhance specialty services in areas such as orthopedics, oncology, and pulmonology, along with non-delivery OB/GYN care. Notable advancements include:
- - Robotic-assisted surgeries for enhanced precision and accelerated recovery.
- - Expanded diagnostic services featuring equipment such as MRI and cardiac CT.
- - An on-site pharmacy for convenient prescription access.
- - Upgraded surgical suites along with a progressive care unit catering to complex cases.
- - Increased privacy through improved emergency and inpatient room configurations.
- - Welcoming public areas, including family lounges and dining options, ensuring a pleasant environment for patients and their families.
Emily Johnson, Chief Medical Officer at Adena, noted, "We've always taken pride in the high-quality care our teams provide, and the new center is a testament to that standard of excellence. It allows us to elevate our services while remaining close to home for our patients and their families."
Emphasis on Community Legacy
The facility will be constructed on the existing Columbus Avenue campus in Washington Court House, allowing ongoing services without disruption. Patients can continue to rely on their trusted healthcare providers throughout the construction phase.
The design of the new medical center thoughtfully incorporates elements reflective of Fayette County's agricultural heritage and the community's rich history. The architectural blend of glass, stone, and brick mirrors the local farmland while the building's shape provides a nod to the area's main roads that lead into the downtown heart.
Josh McCoy, Vice President of Adena's West Region, remarked, "Care feels different when it comes from someone who knows you by name. This new hospital is not just about building walls; it’s about strengthening our community bonds."
A Step Towards Economic Growth
The upcoming medical center is geared not only to enhance healthcare delivery but also to spur local economic development and attract skilled medical professionals to the region.
Graham reassured, "This is more than a new hospital; it's a long-term investment in the health and prosperity of our community. The Adena Fayette Medical Center is built on the foundation of what's next. As this area grows, Adena is dedicated to evolving alongside it."
