Exciting Updates for the 2025 Zeigler Kalamazoo Marathon Weekend Announced

The Zeigler Kalamazoo Marathon Announces a Revamped Weekend in 2025

The excitement continues to build as the Zeigler Kalamazoo Marathon announces its anticipated race weekend scheduled for Saturday, May 3, 2025, and Sunday, May 4, 2025. With the ever-present mission of "Driving A Healthy Community," the organization promises to deliver a fantastic and inclusive event for participants of all ages and skill levels.

New and Returning Features

One of the highlights of the weekend will be the Spring Stride Fest, powered by Ascension Borgess, a long-time supporter of the marathon. This not-to-miss festival will take place on Saturday and will showcase health and wellness vendors, local running specialists Gazelle Sports, and the popular PNC Kids' 1K, providing a perfect family-oriented atmosphere. Furthermore, participants will have the chance to pick up their race packets for the upcoming Sunday events.

Returning this year is the 50 State Challenge, now proudly sponsored by Discover Kalamazoo. This challenge invites runners from every state to represent their home turf at the marathon, making it a competitive and exciting opportunity where only one representative from each state can compete.

In a significant addition, the local establishment Trakhouz will serve as the event's official food and drink vendor. They will offer a wide variety of meals and refreshments to ensure that the whole family can enjoy delicious, nourishing options throughout the event.

Moreover, the marathon is excited to reintroduce the Mitten Challenge in collaboration with the Wisconsin Marathon. Runners who participate in both the Wisconsin Marathon on Saturday and the Zeigler Kalamazoo Marathon on Sunday will earn exclusive mittens as a reward. There's also the Half Half Challenge, where those running the Wisconsin Half Marathon on Saturday can take on the Zeigler Kalamazoo Half Marathon on the following day.

Diverse Lineup of Events

The weekend will host a rich selection of events that cater to runners and walkers alike, including the Full Marathon, Half Marathon, Full & Half Relays, 10K, and 5K run/walk, as well as virtual running events available for those who are unable to attend in person. Interested participants are encouraged to register early.

A Marathon with Community Spirit

The Zeigler Kalamazoo Marathon has established itself as a beacon of community spirit, attracting participants from across the nation looking for a wholesome, engaging race experience. Since its inception, this community-based event has emphasized health, wellness, and inclusive participation, drawing great energy and enthusiasm from the local community.

As of 2025, all races will commence and conclude at Bronson Park, situated in the heart of Downtown Kalamazoo. Key stretches of the marathon will lead runners through esteemed local landmarks, including Western Michigan University's Waldo Stadium. The marathon takes participants through scenic neighborhoods such as the Winchell Neighborhood, Portage Creek Bicentennial Park Trail, Stryker campus, and more, all painted with spirited crowd encouragement at various excitement zones.

Unique snacks like the famous Gummy Bear Forest and Bacon Station provide light-hearted motivation as participants make their way through the courses, while everyone can take part in the Stryker Celebration at Bronson Park.
