CDR Foundation Commits £1.3 Million to Empower UK Non-Profits Focused on Economic Growth

CDR Foundation's Commitment to Empowering Non-Profits in the UK

In a significant move towards enhancing economic opportunity and employment in the UK, the CDR Foundation has announced a generous grant of £1.3 million distributed among three impactful non-profit organisations. These grants will be allocated over the next three years and aim to support the Foundation's mission of fostering equity through targeted opportunities for untapped talent.

Since its establishment in 2021, the Foundation has dedicated approximately £26 million to support 37 organisations via its Talent Solution Partners (TSPs) across both the U.S. and the U.K. This new grant will benefit three new UK partners: Business Launchpad, IMO Charity, and Streets of Growth. These organisations are joining an already robust network that includes established entities like MCR Pathways, Generation UK, Sister System, and Football Beyond Borders, bringing the total to ten influential non-profits in the UK that are working to uplift disadvantaged young individuals.

The Role of New TSPs

Business Launchpad

Based in South London, Business Launchpad plays a crucial role in supporting young entrepreneurs aged 18 to 30. The organisation provides them with essential resources such as mentoring, training, funding, and workspace, aiming to foster a vibrant entrepreneurial culture. Since its inception, Business Launchpad has successfully assisted nearly 400 young business owners, equipping them with the tools necessary for growth and sustainability.

IMO Charity

Operating out of Blackburn, IMO Charity addresses the challenges faced by young people and their families due to social disadvantages. The charity focuses on increasing access to education and employment opportunities via school support, mentorship, and practical work experience. By intervening early, IMO aims to improve the long-term prospects of the youth it serves.

Streets of Growth

With a track record spanning 25 years in East London, Streets of Growth primarily targets youths at high risk of criminal involvement. Through their outreach efforts, they provide life skills development and intervention programs for 15- to 21-year-olds. The charity’s strategic focus helps young individuals navigate some of the most challenging circumstances and assists in their transition towards productive futures.

Strategic Partnerships and Future Goals

The selection of these three organisations resulted from a strategic collaboration with Impetus, a UK-based non-profit dedicated to transforming educational and employment outcomes for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. The CDR Foundation's London Council, consisting of CDR partners and employees, conducts a thorough review process that includes evaluating materials and interviewing executive leadership from candidate organisations. This rigorous vetting ensures that grants are awarded to those who align closely with the Foundation's mission of long-term, impactful support.

Randy Moore, President of the CDR Foundation, expressed his enthusiasm for the new partners: “At the CDR Foundation, we look for organisations that meet young people where they are and help unlock what's possible for them over the long term. Streets of Growth, Business Launchpad, and IMO Charity are doing exactly that,” he said, highlighting the practical and community-centered approaches these organisations embody.

Dave Novak, Co-President of CDR, reinforced the firm’s commitment to empowering communities through education and employment initiatives. He articulated the vision of intertwining strong communities with robust business prospects, underscoring that investment in these TSPs is essential for fostering a more inclusive and resilient future.

Conclusion

With this latest infusion of funds, the CDR Foundation is not just supporting immediate educational and employment needs but is also investing in the very fabric of communities across the UK. As they continue to bolster these non-profits, the Foundation’s work paves the way for a bright future for many young individuals, setting them on paths to sustainable success.
