New Energy Storage Solutions by Omron
Omron Social Solutions Co., Ltd. is expanding the lineup of its acclaimed multi-storage platform, the KPBP-A Series, with the introduction of two new indoor energy storage units. Scheduled for release in August and December, these units offer capacities of 6.5kWh and 9.7kWh, respectively, and are among the smallest in Japan.
Addressing Rising Energy Needs
In recent years, Japan has faced an increase in natural disasters such as earthquakes and typhoons, elevating the importance of backup power systems. Concurrently, surging electricity costs and the impending end of the fixed-price feed-in tariff (FIT) since 2019 for solar power necessitate solutions like home energy storage, which allows users to efficiently manage solar energy resources.
The KPBP-A Series aims to meet these needs with significant advancements in design and functionality. The two new models are approximately 27% smaller than previous versions, a remarkable achievement that sets a benchmark for compact indoor installations. This smaller footprint allows for easier integration into modern living environments while maintaining full support for colder climates, ensuring that users have reliable energy solutions regardless of their location.
Key Features
1.
Compact Design for Flexibility: The new units are designed to be 27% smaller, allowing for flexible indoor placement without compromising style. The units occupy roughly 14% less space, making them ideal for homes with limited space.
2.
Stylish Aesthetic: Featuring a modern white exterior, the units blend seamlessly into residential interiors. The 6.5kWh unit boasts a thickness of only 137mm, making it one of the thinnest models available today, perfect for tight spaces like hallways or entrance areas.
3.
Expanded Temperature Range: The operational temperature range for these units has been extended, allowing usage in environments as cold as -15°C, extending applicability into previously unserviceable regions. This expansion opens up new installation opportunities for users in various climates.
Diverse System Configurations
The KPBP-A Series supports multiple system configurations to adapt to different energy needs:
- - Single Function Storage System: A straightforward system where only the battery unit is connected.
- - Hybrid Storage System: A system that combines solar power generation and battery storage into a single configuration.
- - Full Load Hybrid Storage System: This advanced system supports total home backup during power outages, integrating a battery, solar unit, and transformer.
