Kakogawa Elsa Veterinary Medical Center Achieves AAHA Accreditations
On November 5, 2025, the Kakogawa Elsa Veterinary Medical Center, which is part of the Japan Animal Care Holdings (JPAC) group, proudly announced that it has become the first facility in Hyogo Prefecture and the Kakogawa area to receive
AAHA (American Animal Hospital Association) accreditation. This notable recognition reflects the center's commitment to providing world-class veterinary services in the region.
What is AAHA Accreditation?
AAHA accreditation is an international evaluation that is awarded to veterinary hospitals that meet over 900 stringent standards covering areas such as
quality, safety, organizational management, and customer service. With an incredibly low acceptance rate, only about 15% of hospitals in North America (the United States and Canada) and less than 1% in Japan hold this prestigious accreditation. As such, achieving AAHA status is a remarkable feat for any veterinary practice, especially in a local setting.
Achievements Leading to Accreditation
Since opening its doors in 2022, the Kakogawa Elsa Veterinary Medical Center has prioritized the quality of its medical services, the comfort of its waiting rooms and examination areas, and the informative communication with pet owners. To prepare for the rigorous AAHA accreditation review, the center meticulously addressed all 20 sections of the evaluation, including anesthesia, pain management, examination areas, and customer service. This involved a thorough examination of daily medical practices and enhancements in facility safety and infrastructure.
Future Prospects
While achieving AAHA accreditation is a significant milestone, it is only the beginning of a new journey for the Kakogawa Elsa Veterinary Medical Center. The center is scheduled for its first renewal review in two years, which will demand ongoing improvement in quality and operational systems. The team remains dedicated to creating a safe and secure environment for their animal patients and providing the highest level of care possible.
JPAC also aims to extend the successful practices developed at the Kakogawa center throughout its group, continuously seeking to enhance veterinary care quality and efficiency under the vision of being a reliable and leading veterinary hospital group in Japan.
