Dr. Hussain's Extensive Background

Before joining Cure Alzheimer's Fund, Dr. Hussain held the position of Associate Director for the Knight Initiative for Brain Resilience at Stanford University. There, she was instrumental in developing strategic programming aimed at accelerating brain health discoveries and fostering collaborative partnerships.

Her previous experience also includes serving as the Scientific Director of the Kavli Neuroscience Discovery Institute at Johns Hopkins University. In this role, she promoted interdisciplinary collaborations between neuroscientists, engineers, and data scientists to tackle pressing questions in brain research. Additionally, Dr. Hussain completed postdoctoral research at the MIT Picower Institute for Learning and Memory, where her work focused on the adaptability of brain connections in response to experiences, and the implications of these adaptations for conditions like schizophrenia.

Dr. Hussain holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and environmental science from McGill University, as well as a Ph.D. in neurology and neurosurgery. Her educational background and extensive practical experience position her uniquely to lead research initiatives at Cure Alzheimer's Fund.
